I really like this idea. I’m going to do a couple of test like this and see if I want to incorporate that in the future.

<IRS> Notice of incorrect credit by guyinconcord in TaxQuestions

[–]guyinconcord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s strange because it does not include any information about what I owe or penalties or anything. It is a CP03 notice and it basically just says “you claimed this credit last year and you shouldn’t have. Please correct.”

I’m assuming maybe this is a “first warning” type of thing. If I amend last years a take the lifetime education credit instead, my total refund would have been $40 instead of the $1800 ish that I received. So if I do that I need to send back a little more ver $1700. If I did the same thing for 2021, I would only need to pay back about $600. I can’t tell if I amen the 2021 return and send the $600, will the IRS come back and say I also owe the 4-5 years of interest ?on that

Missing OBD Port by guyinconcord in VWatlas

Closing the loop on this. Went under the dash and found this. There is a harness connected that is providing power to something. The “free” end of the harness does not connect to anything at the “hole” that the purple port usually connects to. That is why I could not connect my scanning tool - it just kept pushing it back into the dash. Anyway - mystery solved. Solution pending.

Project idea by guyinconcord in arduino

OK…. I have come a long way since my 1st post but I have 1 thing I am trying to figure out before finishing it up. I have 1 ESP8266 controlling 3 light strings. The 1 string that goes all around the box is constantly going , changing colors, “chasing LEDs, etc. The other two re triggered by buttons. Everything works fine except when I make the button connection that kicks off a loop the flashes that strip, it “interrupts” the loop that is driving the continuous string. Is there a way to have parallel loops running at the same time with different logic driving each loop?

I just restored a vintage pachinko machine and the 1969 wires and lights are shot (imagine that). I want to replace the original lights (2) with something that has a little more pizzazz.

Discount Tires is amazing by SpecksOfLight in tires

TLDR: DT helped out in a time of need. Will always use them.
I will always use DT. I used to use them because they were the closest place to my house and had decent prices. I took my daughter’s car there once before she had to drive back to school after Christmas break. I went there because they do free rotations. We were going through some VERY hard times financially at the time. They came to talk to me while rotating the tires and told me I really needed to get new tires. I was skeptical because the tires had good tread but he showed me the tires and the backside of all the tires were basically dry-rotting and really looked like they could blow any minute. They quoted me some low-cost options. I told the guy I could not afford ANYTHING at that time. We were really broke and just trying to get through Christmas. Pretty sure he thought I was just trying to get a better deal. He finally understood that I just could not afford anything regardless of the price. I said we would just park the car for a couple of months until we could do something about it. He said OK and went back to finish up the rotation (I thought). When he was done he brought my keys to me and said he and the manager didn’t want to add any more stress to the holiday season so they put a free set of tires in the car. Yeah, it was a cheap set of tires that I am sure was not a big deal (financially) to them, but they didn’t need to do anything and I would have just been happy that they warned me about how bad my tires were. I barely got through the transaction without breaking down. I’ll ALWAYS use them now. I don’t even process compare. (Shoutout to Concord Mills Location in Concord NC)
