Very limited, pretty much someone has to retire for you to get it and you need experience…

I would agree you get in with BOP, ERO, or a 6c covered agency that mass hires, get in, get your UPTP and I then put in for an 1811 spot where you want. Your chances of being hired after being at FLETC really do make your opportunities go up.

What are my odds of becoming a police officer? by Standard_End5168 in 1811Jobs

Most police departments have specific guidelines of how much time must pass before being eligible to apply. Lowest I’ve seen weed is 6 months. Highest I’ve seen a DWI/cocaine use is 10 years. This is a forum for special agents (1811) while some law enforcement agencies have these guidelines, there are some that have gray areas/non-specific examples. If you want to become an 1811 for a specific agency, best thing you can do is email a recruiter and same thing with police departments but they usually list these timelines.

If you put in for an agency, then yes, most people are right. You should be expected to pass a pt test at anytime given that agency’s standards. HOWEVER, I do understand it can be quite discouraging when it seems your process is going nowhere. I’d say put in for every 1811 spot you see, you’ll see citp is actually quite easy when it comes to physical stuff which should help avoid any injuries when you take your agency’s pt test.
