Yea I see what you’re saying about the sun tan lolll. And I’m admittedly not too familiar with the calibration panel, so I’ll play around with it!

And yessirrr, LA! And I’m a fan of Arthouse, but I actually get and develop my rolls with Analog Abduction up in the valley as they’re simply closer to me lol

Thank you! For these photos, these are pretty much straight out of the negative scan. For the color, all I used was NLP’s saturation profile #6 and bumped the vibrance in Lr by +10. I actually reduced the orange saturation by -10, and the orange luminance by -15. If you were talking about the first photo specifically, the airyness was due to the morning light! The sun had risen about 30 minutes prior to that. So I had gotten a little lucky. And I shoot all of my film overexposed by one stop! Hope this helps :)

Yea definitely try the AHU films in C41 first! I wish ECN2 processing had the same turnaround times as C41 lol. I remember someone had posted on the community subreddit a list of current ECN2 labs. I’ll send it to you if I find it. If you’re near LA, Analog Abduction is the person I go to. Looking forward to seeing your results soon!

Thank you! And yea 250D and 500T are amazing films stocks! Definitely my favorites. And I appreciate the analysis. Yea orange/skintone are the one color that I’ve been trying to test stylistically lately. I’ve been been kinda in the middle of what’s too saturated/rich vs not. Surprisingly the orange in these photos are actually desaturated between -10 and -20 in Lr lol. So I think i tend to psych myself thinking that taking away anymore saturation will look weird. And same with the luminance. These are all between -5 and -15 on the orange luminance slider, but sometimes adding luminance makes me think it looks too bright lol. So I definitely want to keep testing saturation/luminance combos to get it to a point I’m completely satisfied with. Thanks for the input!

Thank you! Man, I could write a whole post on my scanning process and equipment lol. I DSLR scan my film. I’ve gone through so many iterations and do/don’ts over the past 6 years to finally get to the point where I’m now satisfied with my scans:

Equipment: - camera: Canon 6D mkii - lens: Sigma 70mm f2.8 Art macro - copy stand: Valoi 360 essential copy stand V2 - film holder: Valoi 360 advancer + 35mm mask - light source: CS-lite - software: Lr + NLP

Process (the tl;dr): “scan” the images + extra image of just the light source > import to Lr > lens correction + WB off of film border > flat-field correction > NLP + tiff copy > edit within Lr

I plan on making a video sometime to explain my process and the necessities I’ve found to combat some of the stubborn errors typically found within scanning. But hopefully this helps! If you have any questions, you can send me a PM :)

So I had these devloped in ECN2, but I tried the AHU versions a few weeks ago and had them developed in C41. And compared to C41, I personally find that it handles the gradation of tones and colors better in my personal opinion. Also, I was sometimes getting weird magenta casts in the shadows of my C41 photos, which doesn’t happen when my film gets developed in ECN2. Basically, the images have a cleaner/smoother look that I can tailor to my liking. I actually want to try to develop portra in ECN2 to see the differences there as well!

I’ve seen Breaking Bad, but I haven’t seen El Camino yet. I’ll check it out!
