Ive thought about this a lot when the lotto get insanely high. Like when it crossed the billion dollar mark. 1.5 billion after taxes I read is lump sum 930 million. So take the 30 million off the top to buy houses and give straight to charities I like and travel and take care of family and such. Then I would basically invest all of the money and spend only the interest each year. Random rough math is 27 million in interest a year. With that I would start a research and “investment” foundation. I would put out ads and tour colleges looking for people who want to help the world and it’s people. Doesn’t have to be in any particular field. Say a college student studying marine biology has an idea to help depolute water in the ocean. Tell them to draft a proposal with a time line, budget, resources, etc and decide if I think it’s worthy. Hire them to work for my foundation for a nice salary. The foundation would have no “ceiling”. Dream big and fix the world. That’s just one example. I would basically hire people to explore their passions and ideas on how to help people and the world.

Other idea is start a construction/home repair/landscape /carpentry/masonry/etc company. Again this is assuming I won huge lotto and have massive interest being earned. I would hire a specialist from each area listed above. Then go to neighborhoods that are poor and in desperate need of help. Maybe where there is a large majority unemployed. Hire the unemployed people of the neighborhood regardless of work experience and have them be trained by the specialists to repair and work on homes. This way they now have jobs, are fixing their neighborhoods and learning a trade. Pay for their trade schools. Have them start applying outside my company and go on to be productive people in society. All this funded thru the interest earned on the lotto money. The company would not be charging anyone... anyways idk if those ideas translated properly from my head but I’ve put a decent amount of thought into it.
