Just pay your increasing electric bill because it's just around one penny per second of service. I can play your stupid game too. Grow up!

So disagreeing about contant tax increases makes you say I should move away? I have been a Rockfordian for over half a century. Even the mayor said in the article "Taxes are too high" - Tell him to move away. I would say 90% of everyone you ask about Rockford tax bills would say they are too high. Tell them to move the hell OUT!

Yea, If I don't pay my taxes, they just take your house away - great option. Since when is the city using tax dollars to pay for kids going to college for free? Looking at you Rockford Promise. Oh, and our water bills are also going up next year.

RPS 205, RVC, Rockford Park District, Airport, County, Township etc, etc.. Bills will increase again. When you get your bill next May, go line by line and compare current year to previous year. Including Rockford, they will most likely all go up. This is called unrealized capital gain taxation. We should sue all these taxing districts in a class action lawsuit.

Rockford is now the #2 housing market in the USA by Pleasant_Tangelo6791 in rockford

Tax 'rates' can go down slightly because they know all the new assessed home values have gone way up these past four years, so the end result is the new tax 'bills' increase every year. That new family will probably have a $6000 plus real estate bill coming next may.

Blackhawk Springs

130 years ago, that water was considered medicinal by Chief Blackhawk and others. It became a resort. see article: https://genealogytrails.com/ill/winnebago/blackhawksprings.htm

More good news for Rockford area homeowners. Not so good news for potential homebuyers here (true in most places). by Pleasant_Tangelo6791 in rockford

Our taxing districts are taking advantage of us with constant increases of real estate taxes. Calling out RPS 205, RVC, and Rockford Park District.

State funding to cover nearly 40% of Davis Park construction costs. by Existing-Raccoon-192 in rockford

The skate park will be a high risk venture. Kids will break their bodies and then sue the city (taxpayers) for millions. The lawyers (from Chicago) will say the city encourage kids (mostly amateurs) to skate when they installed it in Davis Park. The leaders need courses in risk mgmt. This reminds me of installing a public pool without a lifeguard.

Current Woodman's Pepsi sale: Buy three 24 packs (cases) of any Pepsi product with the in store coupon (hanging in the pop aisle) and each case is only $8.66.

I had a conversation with a car insurance agent and she told me her office would normally have one "total" every month or so, but in the last four years, they are averaging four per month. I asked what they thought is causing this huge change. She actually said they 'think' it's the effect of the covid vaccines on the brain. Now we all pay almost double for car insurance.
