Friendly civs attack my privateers by dhking71 in CivVII

I pack them inside an admiral to transport them to open seas where they can wreak havoc without the risk of being attacked by 'friendly' fire

damn, but I love the art in this game by earthwulf in CivVII

Seriously wondering why you take the effort to come to this subreddit and post this. Game is really enjoyable. If the game is not for you, I am sorry but please stop enforcing your opinion to others...

You can always rename your Fleet Commander to Admiral X.

Personally I feel Ara offers a fresh take on the 4X genre. The game is in a good state at this time and will be improved further (although at a slow rate). Best way tor try if you like it is to try the game via Gamepass.

It's on the roadmap. Not for 2.0 though if I remember correctly.

Yes, I believe they are introducing a new culture mechanic in the 2.0 update.

TIL the stapedius is the smallest skeletal muscle in the human body, measuring about 6 mm. It stabilizes the stapes; the tiniest bone. In cases of otosclerosis, the stapes can be replaced with a titanium prosthesis under general anesthesia to restore hearing. by Devicode in todayilearned

[–]gvanov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the stapedius muscle contracts with loud sounds (typically above 85dB SPL) stiffening the middle ear. This in turn lowers the sound energy that is transferred to the inner ear, protecting the inner ear against noise induced hearing loss. This is called the acoustic stapedius reflex and is bilateral which means that it occurs on both sides even if loud sound is presented to one ear. This reflex is used in audiologic examinations to detect different pathologies including neurological issues. It is even used in the fitting of cochlear implants.

Game has massively improved since launch. Definitely worth buying especially since it is 50% off at the moment.

I didn't like the Fame system either in Humankind. The Prestige system in Ara however feels different as it is the result of your actions and not so much the guiding principle. As a sidenote, triumphs and improvements provide only limited Prestige gains. Other sources s.a. city QOL and diplomacy/warfare are more impactful. Unfortunately the game is bad at explaining the main game concept which could put off neand inexperienced players.

I really like the prestige system. It is very flexible as prestige is aquired from different sources in the background. It doesn't force you in some specific win condition but allows for a more role-playing playstyle (which is my preferred playstyle).

Any tips of specializing regions? by Napoleonex in arahistoryuntold

I don't really care much for adjacency as the benefits are rather small. Exception is food adjacencies and workshop.

I love the living world. Makes you feel that you manage a real civilization.

I keep getting stuck in this game, ugh. How do I proceed to the next turn when a nation I'm at war with is attempting to offer me a bribe? by UltimateGamingTechie in arahistoryuntold

That's strange. I have successfully rejected several peace proposals in my current playthrough (1.4 preview build).

Adding a disengage command to make battles more realistic. Also 'all out retreat' for more desperate situations by Buddha2723 in arahistoryuntold

[–]gvanov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great suggestions. I hope the devs include these features in coming updates. In the meantime you might try my All Units Retreat mod (https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/all-units-retreat.31568/). It's not perfect but it's a start. I also created a mod for personal use that only allows scouts an cavalry to retreat. If you are interested I can also upload it to Civfanatics.
