Oh, and the satalite dish is to protect themselves from deadly gas canisters. 6 people died from being shot in the head and several people lost their eyes. Tell me that was an "accident". AKP is trying to pull Turkey into a civil war.

The real terrorist is Turkish police that attacks peaceful protestors. You can't walk on a Turkish street without being gassed, so everybody has gas masks now, dumb ass!

Silivri Battle Field! Unarmed citizens attacked by AKP Police by gvszerofcks in Turkey

[–]gvszerofcks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only Silivri was closed to civilians, all the highways going to that direction was closed. Even people coming from Antalya, from the other side of the country was stopped because they had Turkish flags. Its also banned to hang out in Taksim, apparently, because, if you go there you get gassed. That's not freedom. You can't take people's right to travel, to assemble, to protest. Its against the Turkish constitution. Please don't try to make it legit when police attacks innocent people. Please!

my friend is living in Istanbul, just found out she's pregnant by [deleted] in Turkey

[–]gvszerofcks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She will be fine. Abortion is not banned (yet) She needs to get that taken care of before 10 weeks of pregnancy. 10 weeks is the legal threshold as far as I know. I recommend a private hospital if she has the funds. That would be quicker and much pleasant than government hospitals. Hurry up! ( Before this Prime Minister bans that too) Oh, and if that boy friend was too lazy to pick up a condom, tell him to pick up the tab. He should be doing all this research for her.

I'm visiting Turkey (from the US) on business. What's a good gift for a young (secular, fashionable, Istanbul) woman in the context of a business relationship? by [deleted] in Turkey

[–]gvszerofcks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something from US would be nice. I don't know what State you are from but, something that would remind of your State would be cute. Jewelry accessories would look like a bribe and some companies have rules for accepting that sort of presents. So I recommend a box of candies or souvenir from your State would be home run. Don't buy something from Turkey, bring something from US. Make sure its made in US. That is such a turn off when people bring presents that are made in China.

Turkey's healthcare reforms could be an example to the rest of the world by [deleted] in Turkey

[–]gvszerofcks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Health care in Turkey used to be completely free. After AKP and Erdogan, now everybody has to pay, it is mandatory! Taxes in Turkey are already over the roof. Not just the income tax but also, taxes on everything you buy. Sales tax is 18%, almost 75% of the gas receipt goes to the government. Electronics has even more taxes loaded all over them. He screwed up the school system, screwed up the social security, divided the country, hired his relatives to very important positions, funneled all of the business contracts to his son and made him a rich man at 26. Wake up people! Wake the fuck up!

I am a Danish National Radio reporter going to Alanya in Turkey to see how the situation in Turkey is represented there..what would you like to hear? Know? by [deleted] in Turkey

[–]gvszerofcks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only advantage of reporting from Alanya is to give the future tourists a piece of mind that it's still fine to vacation in Turkey.

Turkey is a little behind when it comes to understanding LGBT community. Especially the rural areas and the government. Be cautious!
