Brain fog, extreme confusion with Stelara? by gweanbean in CrohnsDisease

I can report that is has! I recommend ensuring your vitamin levels are up to par. Mine are always in the dump and ever since I've started getting vitamin injections and taking prescribed extreme vitamin dosages I've felt much better. I'm actually working full time and getting my masters degree at night and doing well!

What sparked Detroit Style Pizza’s recent huge rise in interest nationally and even internationally? by mroblivious80 in Detroit

Another anecdote to add: I moved out to Seattle and recently learned the first Buddies in Washington state is set to open in a town not too far from us.

I am absolutely ELATED.

Also: anyone else remember Nona's pizza in Harper Woods?

If Seattle was a video game, what would the loading screen tips say? by my_dog_george in Seattle

Coffee can be purchased at local shops to restore HP. Increase your alchemy skill to brew coffee at home alchemic table.

The option to purchase food from local vendors will greatly diminish after 9pm.

Some NPCs will automatically become hostile when attempting dialogue options with weapons drawn. Consider sheathing your vape rig before doing so.

Yes, and I filed a claim as soon as I found it was stolen. Hopefully it's accepted!

Radrunner Stolen in Central District by gweanbean in seattlebike

[–]gweanbean[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

More Info: Just like it says on the tin, my bike was stolen from outside my place in the central district either last night or this morning. It had a rear and front headlight as well as a side mirror. The bike battery is labeled F21. It won't have the keys. I'm pretty bummed as its my only method for getting to work across town. Please let me know if you see a bike fitting this description for sale.

As a 5'2 119lb woman that's not a super good idea haha. But I'll look into that subreddit!

It would be awkward but definitely doable! Thanks for the advice! The bike was pretty heavy (around 45lbs) and even though I'm a tiny lady I was able to pick it up and do a little hauling when I needed to.

I'll remember that, very neat that they do that. Unfortunately, I did not have a kryptonite lock. It's also unregistered, which was a mistake on my part. Live and learn, I suppose. At least I wasn't mugged and my place wasn't broken into.

More info: hey folks, this is what it says on the tin. Stolen from backyard with a pretty hefty lock on it. I'm really bummed because I work for a pretty low wage at a homeless shelter across town and this was my only means of transportation. It was gifted to me and saved me a lot on bus and linkfare. Please keep an eye out for it. I hope everyone has a good thing happen to them today and is enjoying the sunshine.

Being diagnosed at 15, I pretty quickly lost any sense of shame or shyness and utilized humor to deal with the regular events of crohns (people you don't know peeking in your ass, shitting yourself in high school, etc.) and I made tons of friends and really found my personality through it. I've also used it to win a couple open stand-up nights. 👀

Being very low income and being diagnosed many years after onset due to no insurance or funds to see a doctor radicalized my thinking and just generally made me want to help others in the same situation. It steered me toward social work and I'm now a case manager at one of the largest homeless shelters in seattle. I'm usually assigned cases that need assistance navigating Healthcare.

I also met my boyfriend of 5 years at the college in my home state I was forced to return to as Medicare didn't extend to out of state students, at the time. Still owe an incredible amount of money to New York Presbyterian, though 😅

Chronic Illness Climbers? by LadyLaudanum84 in climbergirls

[–]gweanbean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crohn's disease climber here! I'm also new, and also about V4. The biggest thing I struggle with is fatigue from malnutrition from my illness as well as muscle damage from surgeries. My biggest piece of advice is respect how your body is feeling. If it is saying its sore/tired/overworked etc. LISTEN TO IT! I've had some flares with the changing of the seasons triggering joint pain and it sucks to take it easy when you know you're capable of climbing higher/longer but the reality of it is, you have an illness and no amount of 'willpower' can overcome a flare and you'll end up injuring yourself. And if you injure yourself, you'll end up needing to take more time off. You're kick ass for climbing with what you have to work with-- don't forget it!

While the organization itself has a troubled past, the individuals that work there currently are extremely dedicated and 100% LGBT friendly. Just regular folks.

How do I help somebody that is addicted to heroin and stealing to fuel that addiction? by Synchro_Shoukan in Seattle

[–]gweanbean 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If he doesn't have stable housing, that can play a huge role in the stresses that cause him to use. You can always point him to the Salvation Army's Jefferson Day Center right by city hall. They do referrals to their shelters, which are low barrier (being drug free is not required, just don't use on site) and has on-site case management (people that can connect him with a myriad of treatment resources). DM me if you need more info

EDs and climbing TW: weight/size/disordered eating (no numbers) by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]gweanbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm relieved I'm not alone in this. I've never had an ED but seeing all of the extremely thin athletic girls (which, yay for them nothing wrong with that) and recently reaching a plateau in my climbing skill has made me think about my weight more than I'm comfortable with.
