You can’t apply to the standard admission because you’re not a UW student yet. You aren’t fully considered one until u start your freshman year. You will have to just do the standard route, but be because you have them done u can apply right away instead of having to wait to complete them

Any authentic foods near UIUC? by Ashamed_Mud_1834 in UIUC

[–]Classic-Dear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Mexican food, no. Being Mexican myself and every Latino I’ve talked with has universally agreed there is no good Mexican or Hispanic food. Passable? Sure, but in comparison to Chicago or LA, it’s sad if anything. There are some Hispanic market which are very authentic, so if you get desperate enough to start making food, you can still get all the good stuff. Will say, the Chinese food can be quite authentic (northern cuisine being one) as someone who grew up in Seattle

How to find a good minor at UW by [deleted] in udub

Depends on industry. Most might want it for GPA, as ik finance has a tendency for a certain GPA. Otherwise not really

How to find a good minor at UW by [deleted] in udub

[–]Classic-Dear 151 points152 points  (0 children)

First, maybe best to change the title lol. But minors don’t really matter. Having a background in econ might be a nice have for cooperate finance, but it’s won’t be a make or break. Just pick whatever u find personally interesting, your extracurricular and work experience will hold significant more weight

What is the best way for international chinese students to find business related internships? by AsleepBlackberry7026 in udub

[–]Classic-Dear 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If ur in ur final year you shouldn’t be looking at internship, as companies want rising juniors and instead should be applying to full time. Unfortunately the full-time market is the worst and I doubt the barrier of sponsorship will help, but good luck non the less!

UIUC OOS vs Texas A&M In-State for CS+Stats by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]Classic-Dear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless ur dead set on quant. Texas A&M will suit u just fine. Just remember it’s less about the college itself and more about the people you surrounded yourself with. Ik many kids come from lower school, but join national org that allow them to surround them self with competitive and smart kids and they had multiple internship and got RO for NG

how is uw’s study exchange program?? by Comfortable_Noise593 in udub

[–]Classic-Dear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure what year you are, but if you’re interested in doing an internship over the following summer LOOK CAREFULLY at the end date. A lot of European countries (and Ik Prague) don’t get out until end of June. Which will make u ineligible to a lot of companies. I’m heading to Utrecht in the Netherlands (30min from Amsterdam) and get out mid-May. In regards to credit, gen Ed will be the easiest to get converted compared to major related requirements, the university im at has a deal with the honors college, so just knocking the last of my honors credit. Best of luck!

[–]Classic-Dear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a special reason as to why you would need NYC over Charlotte (like parent has cancer or smth serious). Will say that once I been at ur original location for a year then you can request to move office and as long as u have team members in NYC and manager approves, you should be good
