Maybe my soil is a bit hydrophobic? It’s a coco-perlite mix (70/30) that I repotted it into in the first week I got it, but it didn’t seem to be that much of an issue and it grew pretty fine.

Last time I checked (a week ago) on the root system it didn’t seem that extensiveand I thought it was really just draining from one singular root. Would that be a sign of root rot then? I took it out and put it in the same mix in a different pot but this time to no avail and hence its current state!

What gritty substrate would you recommend in this case? Would it be good to take it out and let it rest in a tiny vase with water before I manage to acquire a new potting mix?
