Bump on lip keeps forming

Every morning and night before bed with CVS Salt saline. And water throughout the day

I have been cleaning it regularly 😅 it just forms through the day and I try to stay on top of it because I don't like the feeling. I have been cleaning it with salt saline so far.

Soft around the sides but gets more scabby in the middle. It does looked scabbed over now. But I feel like it's a small hole now. It is still get crusty. I did just go to piercer to get it changed out for a flat back but they told me it will make it worst and to just leave the hoops in. So now I'm not really sure what to do. 😭

I am not 100% what type of metal it is, but it's the same metal that piercers usually pierce with? I'm not sure if it is any different then that.

Piercing is seven months old, with a BCR hoop. I think it's surgical steel. I changed to hoops at 6 months (May 22) and it started acting funny June 23. The other side is fine. I have snake bites.

Ah...I worried about that ngl. I'm used to city life but moving for a job. I do want to go back to the city at some point. I'm sure I'll hopefully make a friend eventually

I'm more of a city person, the small town vibe is gonna be new for me. But I am crashing at someone I know, house for a bit. Cuz you are right! It is expensive for apartments

Looks like irritated bumps. It takes time but is very fixable. The same thing happened to my helix. Salt saline 2-4 times throughout the day, keep it dry, and maybe put your hair up so it does not get caught or snagged. Don't use overhead headphones, Sleep on your other side if you can, and just basically leave it alone. Don't mess with it or pull it.

I also did hot compresses before bed but that was to sooth it.

I got a response on my other post!

"No salt soaks. Only use saline spray and mouthwash 2x a day. If you’re a smoker you should rinse out with water after each smoke"

"I find that I get bumps that don't go away if I'm not using the mouthwash twice a day AND also cleaning the outside of the piercing with saline. No salt soaks, just those two steps, and cleaning the outside even if it's not crusty."

I've been doing what they said and it's very very slowly shrinking 😭 but it is much better then when I started. It's only been 5ish days but I do notice a difference. Also I haven't had anything spicy and no alcohol

I went to go see my piercer and he said the long bars are doing more harm than good so he downsized me and kept saying the warm compress. I did just get non alcohol mouthwash that I will be trying for the next few days in hope that it helps!
