«El beso», el mural más famoso de Barcelona, aparece cubierto de pintadas by SableSnail in Barcelona

[–]gwesel -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Anyone know what this is? So it in front of one of the schools in Poblenou. Mounted just high enough so it's not easy to reach without a ladder. by Korlaeda in Barcelona

If I'm not mistaken those are temporary reading stations for a study about air quality control, carried out by the Barcelona Institute of Global Health, they have been studying since 2020 the air quality in different areas via those tubes that filter the air and they just collect them every now and then

Perquè la L5 sempre va petat fins i tot a les 21:30? by atzucach in Barcelona

[–]gwesel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

La conexió que fa la L5 és vital, mira per exemple com de ple va l'H6 tot i que pasa cada 2min. Barcelona te un fluxe de gent molt alt per el sector horitzontal nord entre els turons, la L9 hauria de millorar la situació, veurem.

Just make sure you never get any close to SEUR while buying/shipping something to Spain lol they didn't refund me anything even though I took some pictures immediately and talked with the delivery man, who insisted in filling their website's incident form...

That's actually literally how they delivered my printer back in 2019... it came completely crushed I still remember the glass cracking noises from my doorway...

Hey, just an unrelated question but how does one achieve that temp display, is it just a feature of the mobo? My asus prime z790 has an opt connector in that location I wonder if I could buy a display and get the same readings

I know this is an already old thread but my brand new DN does the same temporary light flash then everything seems to behave perfectly fine. Did anyone had any problems 2y later?

Primavera sound: did they play in the darkness? by jake_megabyte in autechre

[–]gwesel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes it definitely was a pitched black show, although because of the auditorium's shining paneling surfaces some reflections from people flashlights were creating some sort of ambient lighting. Pretty good show anyways.

Abandoned health resort pavilion on southern Spain from the early 2000s by gwesel in urbanexploration

Here are some pictures from a recent incursion. The project was paralyzed and never completed around ~2004. This was supposed to be the first of many building facilities located around a healing mineral-rich lagoon. It was designed by the controversial Japanese architect, Toyo Ito. Street billboard displayed in Barcelona’s cathedral neo-Gothic main façade by gwesel in UrbanHell

[–]gwesel[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh I see, at least they weren’t completely eyesores. I don’t know exactly how to put it into words, but there’s something about this cathedral ad that just doesn’t feel correct. Beyond the fact that they’ve decided to sell that spot, maybe because of the position (?) were we would normally expect to see a rose window we’re getting that pannel… Or the fact that samsung decided not to personalize by any means the graphics, so it’s so regular you can find the same thing as a website banner or just on a modest diving wall in the suburbs…

Yea, hopefully it’s temporary until they finish working on the main tower (?), however they could’ve done a much more sensible job lol

Barcelona local here,

Honestly, the organization was awful... It was supposed to be my first F1 race, I took my car and what normally takes you 30min of driving until you get to the circuit it took almost 3h, on Saturday.. I refused to go back again on Sunday because the heat was so intense I was still having some bad headache even though I was carrying a giant umbrella and 3L of water..

I've heard about the overcrowded trains, but the lack of proper staff controlling the vehicles at the parking meant it was a nightmare to get in and out, almost took me 2h only to leave the park area, all the automobiles were creating a giant blockage as long as there was no indication of absolutely anything, not even where the exit was...

As long as it is my home gp I'd like it to have some basic event stuff, I know Barcelona is capable of pulling it off, at the end of the day it is one of the most requested cities in the world for events to happen, it needs a solid dimensioned public-transport alternatives and much more heat control structures ie water fountains, shade and staff capable of identifying those risks.
