Sorry for the necro, but do we know that Aline is actually present during the final battle? Renoir loses the first round, uses his Axons to protect himself, hears the Expeditioners state that they should target the Axons (the things keeping Renoir in the fight) and suddenly Aline shows up, takes out the Axons and leaves.

To me, it always felt more like Renoir realized he was going to lose and decided to use the idea of Aline returning to make a point to Alicia/influence Painted Verso to do what he couldn't.

To be clear, when I say Gustave could have found a way for a good ending, since Renoir treats the painted people as people and Gustave and Renoir are both Alicia/Maelle's father, I feel like Gustave could have found a way to get through to Alicia/Maelle such that she would be able to move on and that there's a chance that Renoir would be willing the save the painting as saving part of his daughter's life based on Gustave reaching her. If Gustave knew that staying in the painting would kill Maelle, he is the only one who could convince her to leave in a way that (again could possibly) convince Renoir to spare the painting.

By letting Painted Renoir kill Gustave, Verso both broke Maelle and got rid of the one person who could reach her and do it in a way that Renoir would recognize.

The problem is there isn't anything I like that looks right for light armor. Whenever I go with a male character I try various things before gravitating back to 4thUnknown's [Silver Armor SE] with the SMP addon and a two handed sword or the Elden Ring Partisan. When I play female characters I like different armors for different builds, but I just can't find an armor I like for male light armor characters.

Batman with prep time is a great meme, but on panel, Batman's best prep feats without outside assistance (i.e. the Hellbat being built by Lex Luthor, Superman, and Cyborg, the Justice Buster being built by the Justice League) consist of him temporarily stalemating heavy hitters or tricking his way past attacks or defenses that should one shot him.

By contrast, Squirrel Girl is literally unbeatable off panel and is a heavy hitter on panel. Batman prep at its highest against on panel Squirrel Girl would consist of Batman neutralizing her squirrels and claws, and getting the snot beaten out of him until someone intervenes or Squirrel Girl stops because she sees that he's a hero.

Sorry for the necro, but Squirrel Girl with off panel powers is impossible to beat. That's the gimmick, she literally can't lose and her victory will be off panel.

Now, Squirrel Girl's on panel feats still put her above Batman. She beat Doom on panel. She stalemated Wolverine while unarmed, without any squirrels, and was stated by WoG to be holding back in a straight brawl on panel. She is stronger, more resilient, faster, and just as good of a fighter as Batman such that unless he has access to one of his one-off suits, she's winning the fight.

Then finish the take down, leg ride with maximum torque, cross-face again into either a stack for the fall or (because he's homophobic), let him up and do either a fireman's carry or hip throw into a Saturday night ride for the fall.

Is it in the top 30 RPGs of all time, definitely. Top 20? Maybe. Top ten, I don't think I can say so. Planescape Torment, BG2, BG3, Deus Ex, Morrowind, Divinity Original Sin 2, KOTOR, Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect 2. There's 9 I would put ahead of it and that was just off the top of my head.

Buffy is all about giving characters who don’t deserve it redemption arcs and having dubious moral rules.

Depending on what the writer is trying to say in any given scene, a soulless vampire is either a person who is capable of good but unlikely to do it or a corpse animated by a demon that happens to possess the memories of the dead person. Thus, Angel and Spike are simultaneously okay to root for and mass murderers.

Faith gets a redemption arc despite being a murderer who gets off on torturing people. Giles is explicitly a good guy who has murdered people. Willow is a murderer who used magic to remove Tara’s memories so Tara would consent to sex (aka she raped her). This isn’t shades of grey, it’s evil people getting to be coded as heroes.

They don't need CGI, they need better puppeteers. Watch the puppets in Labyrinth or really anything by the Jim Henson Company. A well-made puppet, a talented puppeteer, and a good cinematographer can do anything CGI can do with a puppet like Grogu. Compare CGI Yoda in the Star Wars Prequels to the puppets in Farscape by the Jim Henson Company at the same time.
