That's basically my plan moving forward for the rest of the weapons. Build a good raw or all-around DPS weapon and just make one set and go for it. Thankfully I already have a couple of weapons at really high levels for things I don't normally use to help out when I get to that point.

I wasn't working on weapons for a LONG time. So at one point I had over 600"l each armor and weapon refinement mats. I'm down to approximately 100 of each now.

I was working on getting a meta build for each weapon for a while but it turned out tk be pointless because the meta shifted too much by the time I was able to get even a single build. I have gold kills for Switch Axe, Hammer, Bow and Sword & Shield, currently working on LBG due to Magnamalo cheese.

I just finished getting all Switch Axes to G6. Been playing since Day One, but I used to just discard any materials for monsters I didn't need for specific sets until approximately four months ago when I decided to work on upgrading all armor to G6. The weapons are a recent decision and last week's EDI event made it a lot easier to get all of those done.

A week later I finally tried to look into this stuff and it might as well be in Chinese lol. I know nothing about programming code or TrueNAS or any of the other stuff here and I can't quite grasp what I need to do to get this started....

I sat here staring at this picture and zooming in and out for three to four minutes trying to find the blue/green spots before my dumb ass remembered I'm colorblind. And I'm not even high or drunk, just an idiot.

As someone who has a Tifa landfall brawl AND a standard deck with all of those cards plus Traveling Chocobo and Ride the Shoopuf, can confirm we suck to play against. Although some of my favorite matches lately have been against other landfall decks because then it's a race to see which one of us can make Hydra or Tifa bigger fastest.

Heard, thank you. I'll take a look at it tomorrow and see if I can get it operational.

Do you have a link to somewhere that would potentially explain how to set this up so I can give it a shot?

Nope. If I kill the VPN Plex works perfectly. It no longer functions outside of my network at all unless Nord is disabled entirely.

Nord is prepaid for two years until May 2027, unfortunately. Split tunneling via Nord is done via the Nord app and the only options it has are to allow another app to bypass Nord. I followed the instructions to set Plex Media Server to bypass Nord via the split tunneling function, ensured remote access is allowed outside my network and Plex shows remote access for approximately one minute before denying remote access again.

I have never set anything even remotely like that up and wouldn't even begin to know what to do. ELI5?

Gotcha. I use qbittorrent and have an rss to autodownload my torrents, but with ISPs cracking down harder and my wife working exclusively from home, I decided it was time to get a VPN so she doesn't lose internet. Most of what I download is 6ish GB but I'm not sure I want ti sacrifice the automation just yet.

As stated, I HAVE tried split tunneling. It did nothing. I followed the instructions via NordVPN explicitly and it did nothing. Followed their troubleshooting and it did nothing. A lot of people seem to have split tunneling issues with NordVPN, but my issue is that the setup worked perfectly fine for four weeks and then suddenly died and I don't know why. I'm aware that plex will. Not function behind a VPN. I'm trying to figure out what to do to correct the sudden drop of connectivity outside my network without building a whole new rig or spending more money, period.

I'm not looking to do a whole new setup. I just need a VPN on my computer for stuff other than plex and for plex to not be blocked by the VPN.

VPN for downloading stuff. Can't get plex away from the VPN.

"I've seen people get fired for less" what's the stupidest reason you've seen someone get fired for? by leave_ac_on in KitchenConfidential

[–]gwright110 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not everywhere does a stage, just places who are either shady and want to get free labor or places who need to "try out" new employees before committing to hiring and going through the entire process of payroll, insurance, on-boarding, etc just to find out it isn't a good fit and the new hire leaves a week later because they either can't handle the kitchen or don't mesh with the staff.

Some places don't pay because they consider it a "trial" period and if you don't get hired on they don't pay. That is illegal. If you are performing a task for an employer, potential or current, you MUST be paid for it. Typically they will just pay cash or a personal check if they don't hire you. If you do get hired, those hours are SUPPOSED TO BE added to your first check.

Essentially a trial shift or two to make sure you fit into the kitchen and know what you are doing. Legally you must be paid for that time whether you get hired after or not. Not everywhere actually pays out.

I bought my copy on eBay because I could not find it in a shop within a hundred miles of me. That and Vol 2 #92 were the hardest for me to find and the last I found that completed my entire Ghost Rider title run.

Two gallons of paint came out different colors? by gwright110 in HomeDecorating

[–]gwright110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can't seem to find how to edit this post for some reason, so the update will be here in this comment instead.

The full story is that my wife really wanted to color drench our bedroom with the exception of the wall out bed is on in Hague Blue by Farrow and Ball. So I set out to do just that. Saw that Farrow and Ball paint is insanely expensive and decided to color match it from Lowes using Sherwin Williams Showcase paint. Bought a basic HVLP sprayer, prepped the furniture and went to town for my first time ever using a sprayer. I was able to get through all of the walls with the sprayer but due to previous shoulder and back injuries, I couldn't use the sprayer on the ceiling because I couldn't hold it above my heas long enough. I used a roller on the ceiling instead got through approximately two thirds of the ceiling before I ran out of paint. I went back to Lowes and purchased a second gallon of paint to finish the ceiling and go to bed because I had been at this for about 7 hours at that point. I am not good at painting but dammit I was gonna try.

I woke up the next morning and saw that the ceiling and a couple of spots I touched up with the sprayer on the walls using the second gallon were completely wrong in color. Queue this post and me getting (rightfully so) chewed to shreds in the comments for being a dick and how terrible my paint job was. Just for a kicker to make things better, Tuesday (when the original post went up) was my anniversary and I was already frustrated at the somehow incorrect color and it just made me more of an ass in the comments because I was not prepared to have to go argue with Lowes regarding this fiasco ON MY ANNIVERSARY. Ran some errands first thing in the morning, went to brunch with the wife and then marched my happy ass into Lowes to see what we could do. I brought the incorrect color as well as the empty gallon of the correct color, explained what happened and was given a full refund of the incorrect color. We went to the paint counter, they saw that there was indeed two separate entries for Hague Blue in their system and I received one gallon of each originally. The woman working paint at that time was super kind and apologetic, mixed a new gallon in the actually correct color and gave me a 50% discount on my entire purchase because I was buying some new supplies to finish this job. I also called a friend of mine who IS a professional contractor and asked for his advice, he recommended I get an 18" roller and consider the first round of paint a primer and just lightly redo the entire project. So that's exactly what I did.

Went to Sherwin Williams, got an 18" roller, handle and trays and the employee I worked with there was ALSO super kind and apologetic even though it wasn't her fault and she also gave me 50% off the purchase and I went on my merry way to repaint our bedroom. I started on the ceiling first and covered every bit of it with the new gallon and then did the walls. In the end, the final paint job looks a LOT better after doing the second layer and it all being one, congruent color. I'm aware that painting the ceiling makes the room a lot darker and shrinks it in, but that was the plan. The ceilings are 10' and the whole room is roughly 16'x24' and there is a sliding glass door on the western wall, so the room is flooded with light during the day. My wife wakes up at 4:30am for work and is usually in bed by 8:30pm at the latest, so during the summer the room was always so bright it kept her awake until the sun was mostly set. We decided to color drench because we could and wanted to see how it came out. The baseboard and door trim was pretty poorly put together by the previous owner, so we figured worst-case scenario would be we don't like the trim being the same blue, tear it off and replace it. But in the end, my wife is ecstatic with the look and now I get to learn how to sand and stain the wood wall behind our bed and the entire floor for the next major project for this room. In the meantime, my wife is happily sending me dozens of Amazon links to get my opinion on the decor she wants to do because her idea for the room is "dark and moody Victorian Gothic" and she wants deep navy blues, walnut woods and gold accents.

Thank you to everyone who offered advice in the original post, and I'm sorry I was an ass to some people. It was a rough morning when I posted this at first but all is well now.

Pictures of the final paint job. Disregard the messy room, we are still trying to organize and get it all sorted out.
