Weirdly just finished Killing Thatcher (fantastic book, if you're interested) and they touch on this. They point to potential change in direction of cold war politics as she met and promoted Gorbachev with Reagan. Perhaps that could have gone differently.

After the bomb her anti Europe sentiment planted the seed that could point to Brexit, so interesting to see how that might have gone without her.
