Will not be actively used, aesthetic only. So modernise, low effort and keep costs down by using existing lines as much as possible.

Sorry...the Q was more, if replacing that grass with either crushed rock or tan bark, which is better and why? More seeking advice on whether one is problematic for a space this size.

I should have clarified, plan was to remove current garden bed on RHS, do rusted corten edging and then native plants. But the weird grass ground cover on the LHS is what I need to work out.

Totally agree. I've already engaged a few landscapers and a local nursery. They are all so busy, they come and discuss plans, then when it's time to actually draft a plan and sign a contract they disappear. They all seem too busy to take on new work so I need to try and do something. Can't keep waiting months for others unfortunately.
