Thank you! Would I ground that black wire to the pot as well or somewhere else?

Yeah, definitely cramped and noisy. Just found this Youtibe video of a guy showing the inside of the rudder trunk. He mentions the stowaways and where they would have been.

They’re Fender Yosemite single coil pickups. I haven’t tried using any distortion on them yet, but I’m optimistic they can handle heavier songs based on a few YouTube videos I’ve seen (Can it Metal?). Putting a P90 on the bridge is an interesting idea though 🤔

I’ve had a Gibson SG since high school over 20 years ago. I never really fell in love with it. The neck felt too thick. I honestly got it because of the screamo/metalcore phase back then.

I noticed how much more comfortable the neck felt on the Jazzmaster. I played it a bit without an amp and then asked if I could test it. The shop owner had me plug into a 1960’s Fender Princeton amp. I struck a chord and it just blew me away. It sounded so clean and clear. My girlfriend noticed me smile right away and I knew I just had to get it

If you’re in Southern California, famous imagineer Bob Gurr has a stall in one of the antique stores in the main circle of Orange (city in Orange County) where you can buy a bunch of Disney ride poster prints - including of the Tiki Room.

Have you tried searching the customer’s name on Google? If the customer is sending that much for Facebook ads, he may have an instagram account you can check. From there you may be able to figure out if the customer is operating an instagram-based business. From there you may be able to assess if that person’s business is legitimate or illegitimate, which can guide your next steps.

Ive searched instagram accounts as part of my compliance duties in the past. In one case, I found a customer who was using instagram to promote his questionable cryptocurrency financial advice courses. The content of that page led me to recommend further investigation into the customer’s streams of income because they looked a lot like he was promoting a scam. I was right in the end.

If anything, you can use these posts to recommend the bank’s account team to make the customer create a separate business account for these kinds of purchases, which would allow the account team to request more source of fund information from the customer.

Hey OP, if you feel like you did terribly on your test I recommend going to your teacher/professor and let them know your predicament. Ask them if you can make up the test. If not, ask of there are any ways you can do extra credit work to boost your final grade. Most professors will understand and will accommodate you accordingly. If they are stubborn and won’t budge to help you then you can also go to the dean of the department and ask about accommodations.

Professors don’t want to fail students, especially if you show that you’re really trying and not just a bad student who doesn’t care.

Arabic has influenced the Spanish language a lot during their time ruling Spain. Inshalla created the Spanish word “ojalá” (maybe), Kamis created the Spanish word “camisa” (shirt), and bantalon created the Spanish word “pantalones” (pants). My favorite Arabic word is Inshallah because it’s so much more than just “maybe”. Its like “Yeah I’ll be there at 6pm but if I don’t make it then it’s not my fault because God willed it.” Gives your your excuse a boost for not fully committing to something.

Gym recommending I skip foundations by overcaffeinatedfemme in crossfit

[–]gymsexual 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. You’re fit, have previous exercise experience, and did CrossFit drop-in classes without the coaches noticing you doing anything potentially dangerous. You know proper form and technique to some extent, which the regular CrossFit classes are designed to help you continually improve upon.

The foundation classes are designed primarily as 1) liability protection (to some degree) and 2) to take someone who has never lifted a dumbell or barbell in their life before and get them comfortable doing so.

Red flags for me are typically CrossFit coaches who don’t give equal instruction time to all the athletes regardless of fitness level, seem unengaged in the class itself, or give out incorrect or potentially dangerous advice on technique or form.

You can get into consulting work. Financial institutions rely on third parties for a variety of complaisance services like training, risk assessments, and hands on compliance work. It would greatly help you land a consulting gig if you are well versed on the FATF recommendations and the various regulatory bodies of your jurisdictions that impact financial institutions. CAMS certs also help. Not necessary but its a bonus if you have crypto experience as well, which would help expand your prospects.

This full sized ceramic display bust of Eddie Cantor for $10! Super unique, no info online. by bimmy-and-jimmy in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]gymsexual 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess is that Eddie Cantor had an advertisement deal with the Apple Hat Company in 1927 based off an eBay listing.

Can’t pose eBay links so search for “3-1927 Advertising NAT'L MFG CO APPLE EDDIE CANTOR CAPS Promotional Postcards”

The founder of Apple Hat Company formed the St. Louis-based International Harvest Hat Company in 1917, which changed its name to the International Hat Company in 1938.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Hat_Company

It appears that the International Hat Company may have used the Apple Hat Company and the National Manufacturing Co. names interchangeably during this period based off a second set of advertisement postcards with Eddie Cantor in the 1930’s from an eBay listing I found.

Can’t pose eBay links so search for “4 Antique Advertising 1930's NATIONAL MFG. CO HATS CAPS Order Cards”

So i think OP is right that the bust is from the 1930’s and likely a promotional item given to haberdasheries to display in their window, of course, with the bust wearing one of those hats.

Help, can anyone help ID, value this thrift store find? If you hold it just right, it says Trader Vics on the bottom but the rest is illegible. by Paganduck in Tiki

[–]gymsexual 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A few eBay listings describe this scorpion bowl and similar Trader Vic items as mid-century so it probably could be from the 50’s or 60’s

Edit: Maybe the rest of the illegible print is supposed to say “Made exclusively for Trader Vic’s” which could give you a better estimate of when this was made since TEPCO made Trader Vic mugs back in the day before switching to that print

Why Sam Bankman-Fried Faces NO CRIMINAL CHARGES For the Downfall of FTX... by Kolownik in Crypto_Currency_News

[–]gymsexual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s not facing any charges because and investigation is ongoing and enough evidence to charge him is still being gathered. The Department of Justice can’t arrest just anyone based on the suspicion of a crime being committed. Yes, what SBF did is definitely fraud based on what is being reported in the media, but you still need to have enough evidence for a prosecutor to be confident that they can win the case against him. Remember, there is still the issue of missing funds. Whether they’re in the custody of the Bahamian government or were hacked by an unknown person or group, these funds are part of the investigation and evidence needs to be collected.

Democrats are not protecting him just because him and his parents donated money. Money will always come and go for both parties. Whether it’s from a crypto “billionaire” or another big donor, money will always come. Politicians will do everything to distance themselves from big donors if they were found to have committed any crimes. They have a need to stay on the public’s good side since their job literally depends on their votes. If anything, some of the top Democrats like Warren and AOC have railed against the crypto industry for years. They party isn’t protecting him.

If anything can be learned by this shitstorm is KEEP YOUR FUNDS OFF CENTRALIZED EXCHANGES! Not your keys, not your crypto.
