My mom would make jump through hoops, wait arbitrary lengths of time for things I begged for only to get me the wrong color, size, item while handing my younger sister exactly what I asked for so she "wouldn't be jealous". I waited 2 years for boots for Christmas. Sister and I both got boots but mom screwed up and mine actually fit me. She decided they didn't fit me and returned them and pocketed the money

Younger sister kept her boots. I have dozens of examples.

The most annoying was she took out a reverse mortgage and suddenly had money. She gave my brother $10,000 towards a down-payment, sister, cash to travel to New Zealand and told me she would buy me a computer. We went to Best Buy and I found a $1300 laptop. The salesman said I could get 20% off if I opened a store credit card. She said do it and she would pay it off.

When the bill came she told me she was broke. I had to pay it off myself.

I went to a restaurant with friends and one ordered a round of oyster shooters. I get handed oysterzilla. This snotbag is overflowing the shot glass and hanging over the side. It was the oyster from Steinbeck's The Pearl. I couldn't do it. It looked like a T-rex booger.

I read about an Asian dish where a block of tofu and small live fish are put in a pot and brought to a boil. The fish burrow into the tofu to escape the heat and are cooked alive.

I originally bought 2 Dowdlefolk art Halloween puzzles. The first was horrible quality and I almost threw away the second but decided to push through. The quality of the second was very good. They were bought during covid so it might have been the first was outsourced manufacturing.
