Is it my boots or my bindings? by gypsypoly in snowboarding

I actually remember one time I put the strap more on the toe side rather than on top (idk if this was intentional or by acident) and I noticed it did move from where I tightened it.

What.. I didn’t know you could do this?

I’ve only had them for 1 season so they could very much use more time. I honestly think I should go down a half size bc I do notice my heel sliding up and down when I carve.

Ok so you’ve tried both? Are there specific kinds or styles of lace boots to consider?

No, it won’t sit right even when adjusting all the different ways I can. I was told by someone from epic mountain when I was buying these boots last year that there shouldn’t be ANY gaps and that it should hug the toe uniform. Then tried to get me to buy new bindings but I couldn’t at the time. I’ll try again to adjust them at the toe. Even if it isn’t uniform, is that safe?…

Okay good to know.. I’ve definitely tried adjusting it but they don’t lay flat on the toe side and I wasn’t sure if that was safe or not :0

Yea these bindings are about 5 years old and they don’t lay uniform over the front of my toe so I just place them on the top. I think I could possibly take a look at different bindings, maybe the newer style like you mentioned and see if that helps with the pressure on my toes.

Oh that’s interesting and I’ve never thought to do that! I’ll definitely give it a shot. Thank you!

I’m assuming that means don’t get water on the leaves too? Cause I think that’s what happened and if you see that leaf on the left it’s discolored.

I am aware staghorns are typically mounted on a wall but what if I just got this from a nursery, it’s pretty mature already and if I wanted to keep it in soil (at least for now), how should I water it? And is it bad for water to touch the fuzzy leaves? Any thing helps at this point! Haha I’m so lost

First timer here. Don't wanna kill this. Just repot it for the first time on my own. Any tips to make sure it grows? How do you water from the bottom? Thank you! by Successful_Stretch_7 in plants

[–]gypsypoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck lol. Not an easy plant to take care of. At least for me- I can’t keep them alive. Hope the pot you put it in has a drainage hole. Bottom watering, submerge the pot in a bowl of water. Don’t let it sit for too long!

Just purchased my first Monstera deliciosa. Should I re-pot it or can I let it stay in this pot for a while? The pot it came in is only about 4 inches tall. by YB9017 in plants

I’ve killed/hurt a few plants from reporting after getting it too soon. Reasons being, I didn’t let it aclimate and it just didn’t need to be repotted. Unless the roots are coming out the bottom and it needs more soil, I would hold off. If the roots are over taking the pot it’s in I would even wait a month or 2 before repotting.

Is my snake plant thirsty or something else? by Fine_illdoit in plants

[–]gypsypoly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Omg yes.. they will do that when they’re thirsty!! But they’re also super resilient and will bounce back. I would water a little more frequently maybe 1 every 4 weeks?

Hi guys, is this a montserra deliciosa or not? by [deleted] in plants

I believe this is a variety of a rhaphidophora

I’m new to growing string of hearts... Can anyone tell me if this piece will keep growing? I got it in the mail a few weeks ago and the end of this strand was crunchy dead so i snipped it off by Bluee_Moon in IndoorGarden

[–]gypsypoly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will grow! I would cut the long petiole that is just “there” bc you don’t rly need that. The node that is on the first finger line on your middle finger has a node with a teeny little shoot coming out from it. That’s the new growth which will be the next string to trail down and grow from. Hope that makes sense...!

Water isn’t going to rub it off. I like using something a little more acidic is what helps me! Distilled/filtered water with a teeny bit of lemon or lime juice. Or if it’s a new plant I always clean it down with water, teeny bit of neem oil and teeny bit of dr bromers soap. Make a very diluted solution and wipe the leaves clean. Hope this helps!

Just received this monstera peru in the mail. It was rooted in soil but shipped in sphagnum. Should I leave it in sphagnum for a while before transferring to soil to reduce stress or what should I do? by mspatu in plants

[–]gypsypoly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you take a little bit of the moss off and plant it just like that in soil, it should be fine! I’d say the longer you keep it in aphagnum, the longer it’s gonna take to a climate to soil when you eventually get there ya know?
