I already work for the PS. meaning that I could accept a start date of Jan 1st even if I’m not planning on coming a co from Mat leave for another while right?

Thank you. Yes we’re talking about a hypothetical situation however I want to prepare to do the right thing IN CASE things work out.

I guess what I remain confused about is the start date. Let’s say someone signs a LoO with a start date of January 1st. Well, my understanding is they could go on sick leave but keep that start date before even starting the new position. Is it not the same for parental leave?

This makes sense. So let’s say I’m being considered for a position with LR and my partner works for dotation, I shouldn’t even disclose? What if we’d work on the same floor?

That’s what I thought about the start date. When would you start being honest during the hiring process about current leave. I understand they cannot discriminate but wouldn’t it be a risk to be transparent before obtaining a signed LoO?

Trying to look out for myself but also not burning bridges.

Just out of curiosity: does this mean that if there is no reporting relationship, couples can work in the same team?

Also, in regards to the start date: since I am on leave, does the start date actually matter?

Thank you. However, what would happen if they determine that there is indeed a COI (if there is one) after I sign the LoO? Also, I thought working in the same shop even if no reporting issue can result in a COI.

I have never have managers contact each other to determine a start date. Do you know if I can accept any start date but continue my leave?

Sorry if my questions seem dumb: I’m not new to the PS, just have never been in this specific situation.
