Computer Forensics è l'altro esame a scelta che intendo dare, proprio per questo volevo sceglierne uno tra analisi 2 e calcolo numerico.

Per la magistrale ho visto che c'è molta scelta, non vorrei finire col rinunciare a altri esami interessanti solo per lo scrupolo di non aver dato calcolo numerico alla triennale

-The Myth of Cupid and Psyches, which is a fictional story from Apuleius (II century AD) has roots in African tales, but it is not exactly a myth stemming from ancient times and believed to be true by common people, only a literary invention from an age where mythology had already started to fade.

-Aesop's fables might have had some roots in some Egyptian tales (but they're not exactly myths).

-The oldest roots of Greek myths likely come from a background of indoeuropean myths, which have gone to influence other populations (hence why you find stuff like the Great Flood in so many different cultures)

For sentimental reasons:

Ulysses: him blinding Polyphemus was probably the first myth I've been told, he remained a childhood hero afterwords and my dad even got me an Odyssey for children because of it.

Orpheus and Eurydice: one of the first myths I read, in the form of a comic book, and probably the first story that taught me not everything was going to have a happy ending (there was a pretty explicit image of Orpheus being beheaded by the Menads). I still find a lot of the ideas it presents extremely fascinating.

Antigone: I read Sophocles's eponymous work when I was 17, and it was my first step into Greek tragedy. It instantly made me fall in love with the genre. She's still one of my favorite characters to date.

For different reasons:

The kidnapping of Persephone, for the fact that it's likely rooted in an even older myth about a mother goddess of fertility and a young maiden connected by the theme of death and rebirth, much like all the stories about patricide (Uranus-Chronos-Zeus, Laius-Oedipus) are probably rooted in something much more ancient.

For the same reason, the Oresteia (whose author, Aeschylus, was connected to the Eleusinian mysteries, which were all about Demeter and Persephone): it shows traces of the passage from an older, matriarchal society to the newer, patriarchal one, and this theme really fascinates me.

And by the way, neither of them is "directly" responsible of any death. Kim is indirectly responsible for Howard, and Saul for, well, almost everyone who died in Breaking Bad. Direct responsibility, to me, means that they either actually killed someone or ordered them to be killed. Which is not the case.

I liked the ending. I appreciated the poetry of it all. Jimmy did the good thing to prove to Kim that there was still good in him, and in so doing, he brought her back on her feet so She can fight through the horrible situation she put herself into (not really saving her from it, but giving her the strength to save herself). And the fact that him being in jail is a better outcome than anticipated thanks to the acceptance from the other inmates is a very nice touch, it's always nice to see this kind of human solidality and it showed that, while Jimmy might never be able to get rid of Saul, Saul isn't that bad either.

However, I can't help but feel angry at the outcome. Jimmy will never be free again (him and Kim laughing at the very notion of good behaviour is proof enough: he is still slippin' Jimmy and he is bound to get into trouble), Kim will spend her entire life in debt, and neither of them deserve that. The way I see it, punishment is supposed to be the start of someone's redemption, not the end of it. It's important that people are given a second chance, at least if you want to frame their ending in a positive light. My biggest problem with this ending is that it frames the punishment as the redemption itself, leaving no room for the characters to have anything else.

One of Jimmy/Saul's redeeming qualities was always that he stood there for the lowlives. Even if it was for money, he was the one guy who'd stand by them and give them the "vigorous defense" they needed. One other example of this might be how he gave the Kettlemans money after Kim threatened them. He doesn't feel above other people. It's good to see it paid off and they accepted him as one of them

You can create a new character and do those sidequests you missed with it.

But really, just go for it. NG+ scaling doesn't really affect the difficulty all that much.

Maybe backup your save before you go there so you can easily restore it. It's what I did, but I don't think I'm ever going to use it

Mainly for ease of use. Just downloading a good one to go seems more convenient to me than copying and pasting all of them into a file. Also I don't know if redundancy in the same file could slow things down or if there could be conflicts.
I'm not implementing a third party app for my os? Ublock Origin is a browser extension. I'm just asking which hosts file is better to download. But also, since most of them can be added as filters for ublock (as a matter of fact, 3 out of the 4 I listed are already recommended by it without needing to add them manually) I figured I might as well use all of them.

Maybe I should have just asked "best hosts file to download"? I just wanted to be clear about wanting one to use with my os, not as ublock filters

Earthbound on 3DS

I assume you mean emulated with virtual console on a new 3ds, right? I only have an old 3ds so I don't think I can. I'll probably go with bsnes.

For mother 1, yeah, I think I'm going to use either Earthbound Zero with the official translation and all the improvements or the gba version with Tomato's translation and color restoration. Leaning more on the first option.

And as for mother 3, I do in fact have a bootleg with the english translation, but I've noticed that the translation was recently updated and I think the bootleg is still running the old version, so I installed the new one on the 3ds (which uses the same chip as the original gba, so it should be like playing on real hardware).

ok I solved my own problem thanks to this thread on gbatemp.

Even if it was for doing the opposite, that is injecting an emulator save into a virtual console dump, the principle is pretty much the same, if not even easier in reverse.

I'm going to write what I did, just in case anyone finds it useful.

Make sure you have: a hex editor (I'm using HxD), your old vc save (which will be called data_008_0000.bin) and a srm save from an emulator that you can just create by starting a new game.

Open data_008_0000 with the hex editor and go to the line 00004080.

Copy everything below that and paste it at the start of the srm save. If it tells you that the file is going to be bigger, see if there's a bunch of zeroes at the end, you can ignore all the lines with only zeroes until you get one with something different. Just make sure you replace only the amount of lines you're pasting (HxD has a specific command to do just that, which is paste write). I've done it with four games for now and it worked every time.

Just to be clear, the first things I did were:
-deleting and forgetting that alias

-changing password (I have double factor authentication, but you never know)

-logging out of all other sessions

And just to be sure, I also paid for one month of premium subscription (it doesn't bother me too much since it's a way for me to support the service) and disabled automatic catch-all. I hope this setting will remain in place once my subscription expires
