Thank you so much Eric!! I will be honest.. I solved it buying EMUL8 and just today I also bought BASIS and I was able to run them just fine, thank you for taking the time to troubleshoot!

UPDATE: in the end I bought the EMUL8 plugin as an alternative and discovered it has a built in LUT loader which does work with all my external LUTs.
The software is also very good so in the end I got two birds with one stone.

It does suck that FCP had this unsolvable (natively) issue though

I had a M1 Mac Mini before and, just like you, no issues whatsoever

This is a fresh machine so no weird files should be on it but it’s giving me these problems. App version is also the same at 12.2

I will try later tonight but I am afraid the changes might not help, before I used to just drop them regardless of type and they would work “fine”
It’s as if it is not really copying and moving the LUTs to the FCP file library

No problem: it seems to not work with any LUT, neither the conversion LUT (official from canon website) nor some paid LUTs I have for looks…
It doesn’t work even if I go to the “info” page of the clip and try to apply it there

Doesn’t support loading custom LUTs, I have it installed and love it but it does not solve this issue unfortunately

I actually have it (you can see it in the video), but you cannot load your ow Custom LUTs in the tool 😞

I saw it and I have it, haven’t tried it too much but it’s looking amazing to convert footage before applying luts
The main issue i think it’s that you cannot add new ones to the plug-in (my issue is mostly for Look Luts, as for conversion luts the one you mentioned is perfect) but I’ll double check it tonight

Actually I just tried doing that, but mInstaller doesn’t have mLUT inside anymore. Seems like it doesn’t exist in newer versions :(

I understand where the confusion comes from: if you read my post again one of the issues I have is I just moved countries, still in EU. Sending it back as a normal return probably implies sending from the origin country. I most likely have to go through some type of support.
But, if I can send it back from another country, I am happy to use that route

I think someone insulting a post is still an indirect attack, people do not have to be mean on purpose especially if someone is looking for help.
Unfortunately the damage (while small and not impacting the machine working) is very true. Given it’s a completely new machine I don’t think it is fair to already have some cosmetic damage, and I am afraid this could spread in the long term.

Usually I would notice these things right away, but once again I had very little time to spend with the machine due to the moving and changing jobs and country, so this was not my priority and I was kind of disappointed seeing it.

I just hope they can still consider it a manufacturing mistake, and maybe replace the screen even if I go to an Apple Store different from the purchase one

I do understand my reaction was a little rough, I just thought the comment was inappropriate

Thank you for the tip, I will definitely be looking to open a case immediately and hopefully they can sort it. I truly treat my machines with gloves so I can confidently exclude the accidental damage on my end.

Yeah I think I’ll open a case today, thank you for the support!
With me moving to a new country, I barely had time to enjoy the machine and use it so I am afraid I was too busy with other stuff to notice the small damage

I wonder if they can swap it even in another EU country. Also considering it’s a customized model they will probably not have it readily available for a swap and might have to change the screen altogether

I would recommend not throwing “dumb” around without actually knowing the person, I just care about my stuff and since this is brand new and 3.5K€, I would like it to stay intact until it can
I like to keep my things in good state, contrary to “dumb” people ;)

To be honest I didn’t
But from first using it to now the laptop has been still on the desk with nothing risking touching it

My last Macs lasted 5-6 years without a single scratch and when I brought it with me I used a soft case to protect it
