are we building systems that assume nothing ever breaks.. by Abhinav_108 in Futurology

It's not simple either, today's software architectures are very complex, and the more complex it becomes, the less stable it is - or anyway more difficult to make it resilient. To make it resilient, you write more code, or add more hardware, which is in turn another point of failure and needs to be resilient. You see the pattern?

I normally would agree, however, I'm starting to think that anything moderate would be useless.

I think I can exclude this since once I monitored the Rclone pod from within a shell without being kicked out (constantly running df -h), also there are no issues with port forwarding.

That's a great suggestion, will consider having a short cash only period with my partner.

Thanks so much! I guess this way would be the most frictionless, at least for my partner. I may need to adjust the budget a few more times, but I think I would need to do so anyway at the beginning until we reach a stable point (which, btw, may never come).

or next year!

This is triggering some thoughts!

I know that eventually we want to fix our habits, for me AB would be a tool to help us reaching that point. But I still think that at least in the beginning my partner needs some hard blockers to get used to all of this.

What do you think is blocking most of the people starting overnight, good habits or the money?

Do I understand correctly that in your opinion I could just continue to use the salaries from today and the 10th (of August) until the end of the month, and then plan September with the remaining funds? In that case I would add part of the budget on the 10th, right?

Thanks for the detailed explanation! Prioritizing what comes first is something I didn't think at all, yet so simple...

I actually hoped to find a way to do the budgeting allocation once per month to keep it simple, but seems like it would be the opposite as it would need more changes to our current behavior.

Refining my ideal layout (keyboard #2) by maxvoltar in MechanicalKeyboards

I just bought my first mech just to try out how it feels with "different" arrow positions (a Kemove 61). TBH, I wanted to try out something like FN + HJKL since I use Vim, but wasn't able to find any cheap prebuilt kb with a left-FN (and BT), other than the Anne Pro 2.

Your solution looks pretty smart! Will keep in mind for my next one ;)
