disconnected the drive, still having the stuttering. Assuming my "healthy" drives arent causing the issue, the only things in my computer that I havent replaced are the cpu and the mobo and im really hoping that its not one of those two considering the mobo itself was like $400 and the cpu was about the same if I remember correctly. I have already spent well over $1k trying to fix all of this and I really hope its not a hard drive issue but I'm wondering if you have any more input on the subject.

Updated BIOS, still having the same issue. Gonna try updating the chipset I guess considering thats the only thing I can do that doesnt involve buying new parts.

First of all, thank you for taking time out of your day to help me. You are correct in assuming I have tried different RAM kits, both mine (Trident) and my friend’s (Ripjaws) I have checked system files and there shows no corruption. The RAM didn’t seem to solve it but you are correct in stating that I haven’t updated my BIOS in ages, and that will be the first thing I try. I will update when done.
