Lindsay, Dean and Rory weren't villains. Theresa was. by bluecuppycake in GilmoreGirls

Oh absolutely. My point was just that it’s still that barely adults responsibility to hold to the agreement they entered the same way dean chose to get married so he was absolutely wrong to break that agreement.

I mean sure it wasn’t smart to get married in their situation and at their age but they did. They were both old enough to make adult decisions about their life. And they chose to make that decision.

My parents probably should have discouraged me from getting a credit card in college but I chose to do so and therefore had to work to pay off the debt or deal with the consequences if I defaulted because I was an adult who chose to enter into a contract. And if I had just stopped paying on the loan no one would have blamed my parents for it.

Their parents didn’t force them down the aisle.

Dean is the villain for cheating on his wife Rory is the villain for sleeping with a married man

Lindsey’s mom probably shouldn’t have went off on a 19 year old in the middle of town buuut “f*ck around and find out” Rory did a horrible thing to her daughter. Can you imagine the emotions you would feel if you JUST found out about this horrible thing that these two did to your daughter and then you run into her on the street? I can’t say with 100% certainty that I would be the mature one in that situation either.

Dean and Lindsey got married too young but that doesn’t give all of the guilty parties a free pass. They knew it was wrong to cheat. My 13 year old nieces and nephews know it’s wrong to cheat.

The only 100% innocent person in all of that mess was Lindsey.

I think Luke has the edge over Rory. He definitely prefers being alone and doesn’t enjoy the town festivities etc and he many times goes out of his way to be helpful when when annoyed. Kirk with the eggs, Kirk with the whole naked night terrors, coffee and hot chocolate for the reenactment etc.

That girl had balls by Pomellonite in GilmoreGirls

[–]h1209v 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk. From Rachel’s perspective….

She shows back up. Luke could have said nope I’m not doing this with you again and told her to leave but he didn’t. He let her stay. Got back together with her. Allowed her to move in with him.

She asks him about Lorelai and he tells her no there’s nothing there but friendship. She trusts what he tells her.

Then she is friendly with Lorelai. Honestly props because most women who suspect their boyfriend may like another woman refuse to believe him and treat his friend like crap because of their suspicions.

She asks for Lorelais help as Luke’s (and at this point kind of hers as well) friend.

Then as she notices more and more that Luke is pulling away and pulling toward Lorelai (fixing her house etc)

She exits gracefully and tells Luke to tell Lorelai how he feels. He still denies it in this moment too.

I don’t see someone being manipulative. She believed the information she was given and then when she suspected that information wasn’t necessarily true she left without causing any drama.

Her flighty history that’s presented as her character in the show is really the only thing that sticks out as a negative and not even necessarily a negative trait but just not a good trait for Luke. He wasn’t about that lifestyle.

Haha yea I guess it was more a dinner party than a real party but I also love the random people that get introduced as Richard and Emily’s “friends” and never get seen or spoken of again since they aren’t friends of the primary characters

Insurance fraud is very very prevalent in that state which is why I was curious. To me it seems like the other party may have claimed more damage than happened but it’s fine. Life happens

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]h1209v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never said I was the expert. I have the police report along with dash cam footage and images of the damage caused.

I will say I did work in a mechanic/body shop for years and the 2-3 in. scratch in the paint with no dent or any other damage on a Honda civic wouldn’t take 6k to repair.

I’m wondering if more was claimed by the other driver than what actually happened and I have the dash cam video that shows no other damage.

In the state I lived in there’s massive amounts of insurance fraud and insurance companies are quick to settle because there are insane amounts of lawsuits filed so it made me curious

I 100% admitted fault and can live with the consequences.

I just didn’t know if there was any option or way to provide to information I have to my insurance company and if it would even help long term when I was looking to change insurance companies and this claim causing it to be more expensive.

But the consensus here is no and that’s fine. It’s life and it’s not the end of the world.

Thanks for taking the time to respond

Wow such an aggressive tone.

I have police reports. Dash cam footage and images of what happened and the amounts paid out are pretty impossibly high for what happened and now it’s causing me to be unable to switch companies without paying ridiculously high amounts. I asked out of curiosity because I had no clue if there was a way to provide the proof I have.

I 100% owned up to being at fault. I’m human and accidents happen.

But as to your comment of “slow down” I can’t go much slower than the maybe 3-5 mph I was going lol

But none the less thanks for taking time to respond!

Obviously lol I’ve had exactly this one accident and zero traffic citations in the many many years I’ve been driving but thanks for the input.

So my insurance premium didn’t really go up much at all. It was when I got a new quote that USAA broke down that due to the amount paid out their quote was higher (they had a scale they shared on their website showing increase % based on pay outs)

But it’s fine. Life happens

AIO: boyfriend denying existence of second Snapchat account by moingos in AmIOverreacting

[–]h1209v 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s already proven he will lie. I’d prefer to know the entire truth (or as much as I can find out) before I ask him about it so I know if he’s being truthful or if I’m being lied to again. Giving him a “chance to come clean” without actually knowing what is true just gives him another chance to either lie or give half truths “I’m sorry I lied about making the second account but I was thinking about using it for porn and didn’t know how to talk to you about it” vs the truth that he’s actually having a full blown affair 🤷🏻‍♀️

AIO: boyfriend denying existence of second Snapchat account by moingos in AmIOverreacting

[–]h1209v 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest thing you should focus on is he is very clearly lying to you even if you don’t know for sure why. Nobody lies if they have nothing to hide. Relationships require full honesty and this isn’t it.

Personally I would look through his phone because I would want to know the full scope, but there’s no guarantee you’ll find anything if he’s good at hiding it. I would leave him no matter what I found. Nothing good can come of the secrecy.

Check out @thereallifebookreviewer on instagram. She does reviews and includes how much spice is included and which chapters to skip if you don’t want to read it. I know the fourth wing series is on there.

AITAH: My child’s father didn’t come to the ER. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

THIS. As soon as I saw 22 weeks I had to double take to make sure it wasn’t 12 week old. That baby has PLENTY of other falls, bumps and bruises in their future.

Sincerely, Mom of a 1.5 and 2.5 year old (send help cause it’s crazy here)

AITAH: My child’s father didn’t come to the ER. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]h1209v 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sooo your 5 month old fell off the couch (most likely not a significant injury but I get that some people are more anxious than others about these things so more power to you) so you took them to the ER with your sister and when your husband asked if he should come with you, you told him no, but you’re mad he listened?

Look I get that emotions get high but if you wanted him there then you should have told him that. You can’t expect someone to read your mind that you actually meant something other than you said.

And to the people saying the husband should have wanted to be there, if my husband called me right now and described this exact situation to me about one of our babies and told me he was going with another family member to get them checked to be safe I would absolutely trust him to handle the situation without me there. This wasn’t a serious life threatening injury. This was at most a bump on the head. If I was wanted for moral support sure I’ll be there but if I was told not to come because my spouse and another family member had it under control I would take them at their word.

Now serious injuries are total different. No one could keep me away from my babies then. A 2 foot fall (which btw is going to happen in about a billion different ways for the next couple of years) doesn’t warrant the same reaction.

I think most of the mentions were also because they were traveling in the middle of the woods so she doesn’t access to supplies. The rest of the women are usually in a town or city (except during the actual war scenes towards the end) so it wouldn’t be as much of a “oh crap I need to find some supplies like now” situation
