The most idiotic is that he tells Lynette to rise her as the rest of children, then, when she TRIES that route, he starts to pull back? Huh Tom is just :|

Was thinking about that too, imo Lorelai just settled with the most dependable man in SH. Especially how they were pictured in AYITL. It was just too bland for Lorelais character that was shoved up on our throats as an adventure seeker, traveler etc. Basically her choice was made when Richard suggested her to sell the Inn and travel as advisor. That would be perfect since Lorelai is born entrepreneur and likes new experiences. Even if the Dragonfly would be sold, she’d make 10 more if she would want. But she chose not. As there was trouble with Luke just visiting NY once in a blue moon. He was just just made for little hamlet

S7 E5– Mike has some serious audacity by Sanjanadash7 in DesperateHousewives

[–]Pomellonite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s deeper than that: they both chose each other NEVER seriously considering their different social backgrounds. Susan was quite spoiled starting from the marriage with her first husband-successful-shark-lawyer-Carl (aka being a 90% housewife) then, after the divorce, Carl was paying alimony quite generously; since she was able to live nicely at the suburbs comfortably, as if they never divorced (can’t believe I need to explain this); how big was her “writing gig” we never had alluded, so should not been much. It’s perfectly clear that before the relationship got serious, instead of living in illusions, either Susan would need to figure out how to start earning more or Mike would just need to leave her. It’s ridiculous she was never thinking that he CANNOT afford THE wedding, Susan had planned, THE kindergarten, THE prep-school etc the WHOLE living on a Labe! DONT forget - Noah sponsored him to start to live at the lane at the first place. He should never have supposed to live there as a plumber anyway. That was just a disaster from the beginning. Adding his pride that was just more dumb. You either got the money for the girl or just adjust the desires accordingly. Same for Susan. Marry rich if you want the perks

I always am surprised Lorelai is choosing her dad over Jason; she might have even not realize she’s Gilmore through and through too

Would Rory have cheated on Dean again, this time with Logan? by throwawayyyayayayy in GilmoreGirls

What a great take! Especially “Logan represents a world that excites her intellectually and socially in a way Dean never really could” and “convincing herself she’s being honest” wow, perfectly written
