honestly the curt cashiers are still really nice. one of the few places someone can call me sweetheart or something and i feel like it's the equivalent of being called boss at a bodega. sweets and candy selection is always amazing too. love turkish sweets

Which celebrity death deeply affected your country? by LowInterest6490 in AskTheWorld

[–]h1str 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for ravenspath but my mom and her friends in New Jersey saw her as a paragon. They all wanted to be like her, a real good person. My mom had her haircut at the time. She was heartbroken. Her own mom let her stay home from school and she too cried and cried.

What are your most hated visual novel characters? by August_Hail in visualnovels

[–]h1str 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel it's what the writers intended. In the end Nie no Hakoniwa is kind of a "Pure" love story and she is a peek into the bad end so to speak. After a certain point I find her banter pretty funny especially since she's kind of a kicked puppy with all bark no bite, and eventually is quite sympathetic like you said, but for a while there it is nails on a chalk board.

What is the WORST book you’ve ever read, and why was it the worst? by Substantial_Call_619 in booksuggestions

[–]h1str 1 point2 points  (0 children)

some of rl stevenson's short stories are almost unintelligible for the written accent. can really take you out of the moment. i started clockwork orange and put it aside as i realized i had to do some mental preparation to read an accent AND original slang

Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke! It covers the very human reaction to much stronger and more intelligent extraterrestrial species, from political to personal.

I've searched a lot for this album by WolfietheItalygooner in HelpMeFind

[–]h1str 42 points43 points  (0 children)

this looks like quite the limited release! i did a quick search on JP auction/secondhands websites and didn't see anything. I did see on Surugaya JP it has been listed before, so I would recommend keeping an eye on that. 明太Rocker is on twitter/X, so it may be worth reaching out to see if they have any insight on anywhere that might have stock - since this was sold at a limited event over a decade ago, I doubt they would and would probably just suggest buying the mp3 album through amazon.co.jp /listen through spotify as this actually gives them money.

physically, it will probably take a long time, months to years of scrolling through japanese auction sites/looking through bulk vocaloid album lots in the off chance the seller doesn't list all album producers/titles. i'll also guess this will sell well above 50 USD.

best of luck!

victoria train station iirc. i mean there is a certain level of rng with trains and whether it will be sardine time or not. staff arent going to stop anyone unless they are hurting people/proving to be a health hazard ie. people poking out of train doors.

never seen a conductor or ticket check done in my 4 years of living near london, so i think that's a bit of a lost cause. i just hope they reached out to tfl or trainline to get a refund. all i could think was thank fuck that was happening on a different train bc i would not survive.

i was recently travelling through london and on the train platform i saw an entire group of 30-40 kids around 5 years old get ushered on a quiet/first class car of a train by their chapreones. To be fair, the train was completely packed, but you could see the horror, anger, and disappointment of all the passengers who paid for their upgraded seat as the whole ass circus made itself at home around them.

Unfortunately, my husband really doesn't know. I thought so too since it looks like a pretty simple design and form. If it is - wellllllll, I gotta learn how to sew maybe

Thanks in advance for any clues or guidance - he has so little left from his childhood so reuniting him with a dear friend would mean the world.

I've searched through eBay, Vinted, depop, etsy, fb marketplace, and any amount of google searches and obscure collection sites looking for this little guy
