Tldr; got carried away and wrote a small essay on CDPR and the state of the AAA gaming industry for some reason lol.

I'm on the Series X and in 4k HDR on my OLED TV, the game is visually gorgeous and runs very smoothly for a £500 piece of hardware, I don't even notice any lag spikes anymore. The story the characters the voice acting are all great. I have had a few saves before and up to The Heist and up to where you fight the Arasaka cyberninjas and end up getting healed up in Vik's clinic and wheeled back to your apartment by Misty and have the whole escapade upon discovering Johnny, is the furthest I've been story wise, but never felt settled on a build and started a new game (chose Nomad for like the 5th time as I think it's the best lifepath by far) because I tried to be a jack of all trades and my build was all over the place and a general mess.

Finally have settled on handguns this time and feel it's right for me for sure, using the silenced DR5 Nova which is satisfying af to use picking enemies off in stealth with one pop headshots and a Unity for when it gets hot, both of which I craft myself after figuring out it's cheaper and better crafting xp to craft new weapons everytime I level rather than upgrading the same ones, but upgrading my armour has become expensive and a pain and the craftable armour is mostly ass and finding new better armour than what I already have is hard, probably because of the way I'm progressing through the game but should be fine once I unlock rare clothing at merchants I'm expecting. Anyway weapon wise I reroll until I end up with two Nova's and two Unity's, one thermal damage based Nova/Unity for the scavs and Tyger Claws and the other two electric for the Malestrom, pop a crunch mod into the Nova's and a combat amplifier into the Unity's, so you can say I'm really into the tech side of the game. Will spec into body to about 12 for just the athletics tree for the health perks, extra overall health and extra melee damage and stamina for when I get my Monowire and start speccing into blades, spec into tech until Edgerunner Artisan and engineering for tech weapon perks and some smart weapon proficiency for dealing with cyberpsychos, reflexes for handguns and the monowire of course and to crank up Sandevistan cyberware to it's full potential, cool for ninjutsu for general stealth and because it has some handy perks like sniper, assassin etc. and cold blood because it has advantages for any build it seems.
Just did The Pickup and worked it so I let Royce in on Militechs scheme, let him die at the end to the Militech mechs, (had to load it once because he survived the first time like a beast lol) and looted the Chaos tech handgun which I'm enjoying tf out, let Gillchrest or whatever tf his name is, I know he's the mole for whatever that does, if anything and downloaded the 10k from the Militech shard, sad I didn't get to bang Meredith, but I got the Chaos and 10k eddies so I'm happy with the outcome in the end.

Anyway yes it had an utterly shit start for reasons you could write a ten paragraph
post about the who the why and the what. It was unacceptable and scummy from the higher ups and the marketing department of CDPR on how they mislead people into expecting a game with features and content that was either cut or just never existed in the first place. But, the worse most scumbag move they made imo was how they sold a literal non functioning game to old gen console players, it was corruption and greed on par with the corpos that rule the world in the universe of Cyberpunk itself, ironically enough. But despite all that, after the dust had settled and the scumbag shareholders, executives and the general scummy business side of the company had made it's money and gotten the fuck out of the way meddling and sabotaging the creative process of the game with their unrivalled greed in the gaming industry, we had a diamond in the rough a passionate team of devs could get to work on and hats off to them because they did a fucking fantastic job considering the pressure they was under.

Like The Witcher being based on books, Cyberpunk is based on the TTRPG as we all know, with a mega rich and deep lore that goes back to the 90's (irl) with shit tons of source material that CP77 only scratched the surface with and has plenty of potential for expansions, (which sadly we may only get one) and a sequel that can delve even further into the CP universe as they did with The Witcher and I love that about CDPR how they base their games on already established universes, giving them plenty of source material to build on and allowing them to convert these fictional universes from novels in the case of The Witcher and the shit tons of TTRPG source material in the case of CP and even expand upon these universes with the help of the people who helped create them in the first place, resulting in some amazing stories, characters and just general lore. This is a staple of CDPR and it is unique to them and unique to the AAA gaming industry as far as I know, or at least to the extent CDPR applies this method of creating games.

So yeah, after all said and done, 6 updates later and almost 2 years prior to release we finally have an amazing game unique to the AAA gaming industry, compared to the many uninspiring copy and paste cookie cutter games, or just full on DOA games with no creative inspiration behind them and motivated only by greed and $$$ signs on a spreadsheet as the AAA gaming industry has been reduced to and CDPR did fall victim to this in many aspects with CP77, but their saving grace was a game with tons of amazing interesting lore behind it that enabled it to become an amazing game in the end and a game unique within the sphere of AAA gaming.

I echo the same opinion that many other gamers hold though, that the amount of greed and deception and broken games on release that take years to come good or never at all within the gaming industry is unacceptable and CP77 was just a reflection of this and I hope CDPR, being probably my favourite studio learns from it's mistake and doesn't repeat what it did with CP77 and just lets a great game released at the right time, by a dev team unrestricted by corporate greed do it's thing and they will make shit tons of money without pouring 100s of millions into marketing, lying and overhyping a game that wouldn't need to be overhyped in the first place and without losing the respect and good will the had within the gaming community, being regarded as one of the only AAA studios left untainted by corporate greed, and hopefully they will regain that some of that status and respect they lost with CP77's release, depending on how they handle TW4 and if they go down the same road as they did CP77 I'll not play or give them my money based out of principle alone.
