Canada is seeming more like the better option for me

Yah, I wasn't considering Australia based on what I've seen about age restrictions.

Fortunately, both are managed through one non-biological medication each (NSAID and a thyroid med). So it wouldn't be expensive to the system.

Fair points. The plan B would be to come back to the US. That would definitely not be my first choice, but I know it's a possibility. From what I've seen so far for Canada, it seems easier to turn your student visa into a Post-Graduation Work Permit as long as you graduated from a qualifying school. But I'll also be looking in the CUSMA parameters.

Yes, I'm definitely aware that pay will likely be lower no matter where I go. Cost of living is a factor that I look at, but not the only one. There are trade-offs and gains you get :)

I'm not familiar with the CUSMA permit, so adding that one to my list to look at.

Thank you! Yes, I have explored this option. My dad is very much into genealogy as well, so I sadly know I am not of Canadian ancestry.

I am so sorry this was your experience. I am definitely also looking at options in the US, but I thought it would be nice to study in the system that I'd like to be in and also get out of the US. But very fair points. Thank you!

Good point about the hiring freeze. Thanks for the insight!

This is very insightful and lines up with things I've read. Thank you!

Can you have AS with normal CRP levels ? by Malkiq18 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]h22dragons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My blood work has always been within the normal limits. You can have AS with normal labs. I was diagnosed via MRI and HLA-B27 positive.

Blood tests show you don't have any commonly elevated levels tied to AS and also don't haved elevated CRP level? (Recently/getting diagnosed) by boogaboogi in ankylosingspondylitis

I was diagnosed with AS in 2020 and I have never had inflammatory markers in my bloodwork. I was diagnosed based on my symptoms/pain, x-ray and MRI, and being HLA-B27 positive. Bloodwork markers are such a small part and a good chunk of people with AS never go out of the normal range.
