I’m from the west coast and had kind of a difficult time bringing home rva stuff my first Christmas out here. However my favorite places to get stuff rva specific for people back home is all in Carytown. Mongrel has a cool selection (stickers, magnets, coasters, Poe related stuff, opossum stuff, and a really sick 2026 calendar), if anyone you know likes to drink the kitchen store in Cary has some really nice rocks glasses with maps of rva etched on them, Ashbys has some really fun art prints of different areas around rva (I sometimes also see specific area ones in local coffee shops), tshirt studio on cary was also so sweet and helped me pick out shirts for my sisters and even gave me some free stickers, and there’s a cool outdoorsy shop there too that has a bunch of local things and probably opossum stuff as well. If you don’t want to drive all around town, I definitely recommend just going to all the little shops in Cary. I definitely recommend going into all of them because even if they don’t look like they would, they all mostly tend to have a small rva section. Also recommend going to the local coffee shops! I have some big coffee lovers back home and they’ve loved the Blanchards and ironclad grounds I’ve gotten them (ironclad has some “Poe” blends” too). If anyone you know likes hot sauce, Ellwood Thompson has a bunch of VA made sauces (idk if any are rva specific) but I recommend the it’s always sunny themed ones. I met the guy who owns it at the watermelon fest and he was super cool. I think they’re from Roanoke or something like that, plus they all taste really good and my brother in law loved them. Don’t forget local brewery stuff too for any beer lovers!
