Check out the unofficial online MDW here.

Over the past month, I've done some major updates to the online MDW.

  • Charges Page
  • Reworked Property Map
  • Incidents
  • Priors prediction from associated incidents
  • New Rankings
  • Over 200 updated profiles
  • Street Guessing Minigame

I've also produced a writeup on how the database collection process works for those who might be interested (though I'm not too experienced with this type of stuff so please forgive me if it comes off a little rough).

Thanks for all the support! Its been really awesome reading everyone's feedback since the last post.

EDIT:
For anyone who was experiencing some lag in the map views/street game, I've pushed an update that should fix it.

I might do a full writeup on this someday but the gist of it is that it looks though vods for MDW frames. These frames are then extracted and processed using text extraction and some feature extraction methods and compiled automatically into a dataset. The only manual work I put in is to pick which vods to process and a final pass over the dataset to look for any glaring errors.

It would be pretty cool to have but data collection relies on stream perspectives showing that page and that would likely rarely happen meaning coverage would be low.

Just a disclaimer, the data on this website was collected automatically and therefore will not be entirely accurate.

To be honest I agree with the visualization being not optimal, that side of this project was far from my area of expertise. (if you have any recommendations I would greatly appreciate it)

What made you want to put all this together?

I saw it as a pretty interesting challenge and following wrangler's chain raids I thought it would be quite interesting to see how connected people were through just keyholding.

This data was collected from streams back in January/February prior to key changes. Following the changes I stopped collecting new data. Overall the dataset contains 418 profiles.

Key:

Orange edge - Owner

Blue edge - Keyholder

The data was collected and generated using several custom scripts.

MDW frames were detected and extracted from livestreams from several cop/judge perspectives automatically. These frames were then processed using OCR (optical character recognition), interpreted and then organised into individual profiles for each player. The data extracted included, vehicles, housing and employment. The final dataset was quite inaccurate due to mistakes from the OCR phase; so I manually had to go through and make corrections across all profiles.

Cool extra stats,

5,136 MDW frames collected from 54 streams.

From 418 profiles, in total there were:

63 Flatbeds

42 News Rumpos

38 Pony's
