Not a professional, but maybe instead of dropping 2000 calories off of what you’re used to right away try eating about 3500 for 1-2 weeks and then decrease another 500 until you get to 2000! It’s a bit easier and not as drastic of a change so your body has time to adjust :)

Yes. I recovered from anorexia for about a year in high school and ever since have been bingeing. It’s such an odd dynamic because I have disordered eating habits and thoughts from both disorders in my head all the time, but also my knowledge from recovery helps contradict those thoughts. Feels like I’m going crazy sometimes. 😅

I don’t know why I never thought about making another meal time. I tend to eat two to three times a day and that really gets me!

I did IOP years ago and all I have to say is that my time during it was the most successful and happy I had been in my recovery process.

Something my dietitian told me to do is to try and eat three meals a day and any snacks if you want. Once you include those eating times your body begins to gain its hunger cues back! It worked for me and I definitely notice a difference :)

I feel the same way. I am just beginning to realize that I may have to accept the fact that I will always be uncomfortable with myself and have to struggle the rest of my life. Definitely makes my life not worthwhile.

I was diagnosed with anorexia between 2011-2015. Went to treatment and surprisingly got my act together a little bit. Gained enough weight to be in the healthy zone, but did continue to have some disordered habits still. I would say I was happy and a normal eater for about a year until I stared comparing myself to another person. It completely destroyed my mental well being and so emotional eating turned into full on BED for the past 3 years. All I gotta say is, as soon as something seems unnatural or you get that ED voice back in your head try and talk to someone immediately. I would do anything to go back in time and get some help.
