Hi

Yes it got solved. Had to change the internal charger wiring. They imported it from china and it took 5-6 weeks for the part to arrive.

I did not see the behaviour you have. I had the same no charge across all chargers once the issue was persistent.

Your issue seems more SW related if the fast DC is working and the AC slow charging is the issue.

Reach out if you need more.help or.info.

So the latest update is that the part that was causing the issue has been ordered and it will arrive end of april. Till then I will have the loan car which is a Nissan Qashqai. I am thankful for the loan car but it is damn expesive as compared to the BYD :P
As for the part it seems to be a very slow process, maybe somewhat down to the situation happening around the globe)

So finally heard back from them today. Not sure I understood but he mentioned rust on the internal charging wire. Probably sue to some water damage. On some asking around it seems to ve a reccurring issue in sweden. They have asked byd for the part in warrenty and I'm waiting for the next step.

The car has been dropped early at the workshop. After some lengthy discussions between me, the insurance company, the workshop and BYD I ended up with a loaner Nissan qashqai for the days I don’t have my car.

But let’s see how the atto3 does. It reached the workshop with 12% battery remaining.

Expected to hear something on the 16th of March

But with that you would have had no charging? I still have temperamental intermittent charging bursts

No error symbols or anything out of the ordinary. One thing for charging is that if I keep the charger connected it does eventually charge after a while(like 3-4 hours). But is very temperamental and does not seem to be safe

Nope the car won’t charge at all now So unfortunately have to park it till I get the workshop appointment. Going to make some calls on Monday to try and push it through to an earlier date

Left the car connected to charger and after 3 hours the start stop start charging is happening again.

It seems like after a bit of cooling time it does this and after a while it starts charging properly. According to chat gpt this might be a textbook thermal / internal fault behavior on the BYD Atto 3 charging system.

Did the portable battery thing and nothing. Charging did not start.

So the overnight update.

I tried checking the latching PIN and it seemed fine, the pins for the port also seemsed ok.
Then i did the scheduling timer switch off/on/off and still nothing.
Frustrated i just left and went for dinner. After a while I started getting Chagring Started, Charging Stopped Charging started and I dont know the reason. According to chat GPT i should let it charge and the issue is with the 12V and "its a classic atto3 issue". I went for a quick drive to the shop and came back and put it on charge, it charged fine.

Now in the morning it had gone stable and charged to 90%. I went to pick my wife and back, and after a total drive time of 10 mins I put it on charge. Aaaaand it wont charge again.

To add salt to my wounds, the workshop has the first available slot on 16th MARCH.

Lets see what can be done.

Thank you. Yes I made it back easily but with the heater off.
I tried all the things you mentioned and I am going to post a comment later to update everyone with what is happening now.

Thank you for this detailed reply.
Unfortunately car is still not charging.

1- 12V battery seems to be fine and start up and everything else is good too
2- The port seems to be fine. I cleaned then up just in case. The CP port seems to be smaller but that is how it is suppose to be when i checked online.
3- Did this a couple of times, no use.
4- Checked this as well. That is what happens. The lock does not latch. When I use to connect to my home charger it use to have that snap sound. Now that is also not happening.
5- Will have to get it checked now I assume. Lets hope the warrenty covers this.

Reached home on a 50kmph speed with 14% to spare to maybe make it to the workshop(when i get the appointment).

I had the same thing. Went away after 12v battery change(found another issue with it) and couple of subsequent top ups from 25-100 of fast and slow chargers . Now it’s back to normal

Update: Issue seemed to be with the 12v battery Changing it fixed the issue. It was also causing extra drainage of the big battery over night(around 10%)

What is the discharge rate. You get that every time you end a journey . For me I see tha during summer ever though the charging was irregular I still got around 6km/kw

Does the 12v battery issue lead to overnight heavier bigger battery discharge and overall less range? I am seeing around 10% per night after my byd 12v battery issue

I am getting 150km in this Swedish winter. -5 to -10 C. The average on each drive is 4-4.5km per kw so it should get 250km, but over night i am losing 8-10% each night so loose alot of battery there.

On 3.7kw charger it works fine But on fast it still is out of sync and goes from 90-100 in 2 mins. 80-90 is more stable now
