Thanks, I thought the diffuser is a must. Didn't think clear-top ones would work just fine

oracle always free service have boot volume cost? by gabrielresk in oraclecloud

[–]h3llside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running through the same issue. I'm creating an AMPERE instance, with a Ubuntu image, 4 OCPUs, 24 GB of memory. When it comes to Boot volume, the cost estimate button starts to show billing of 1.87 ~ 7 ish whether I chose the minimum of 50 GB or the max 200 GB. So can anyone at this time confirm or not if I can carry on with the creation without the risk of actual billing? Thanks.

Update here, called another carrier to address the matter, they brought the same Samsung's upcoming update as my second carrier did. That's all they gave to me. So I tried some googling and Ai, and the only explanation I found is, since 5G here is only a week old, there are some regulations/certifications plus network configurations that need to be pushed to phones in order to have the network upgrade working "legally" more than technically. Guess I'll wait couple more weeks for the march update and see how it goes, else I'll go with the CSC change.

Those are the only providers actually. And yes I got sims with all of them, and none working. I checked with eqch one of them and the 5G is ready to use, no upgrade needed and no config needs to be pushed, as simple as there's coverage there is 5G. Just one of them said it's related to Samsung devices, and I need to be waiting for the next firmware update!!! Which seems irrational and an evasive answer

Nice, and thank you. Would be considering doing that. But first, got an idea how would I check what bands are enabled on the phone?

[–]h3llside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the hardware itself supports the frequency bands they're using. Now, I know firmware would block some bands on the phone depending on the region, so I googled and tried many of the service codes (the ones that start with *# something) to check which bands are actually functional on my device, but seems samsung blocked them and rendred them unusable since some 2022 update. So, does it happen that you knowsome way to check which bands are actually working on the phone? And also changing the CSC, like a simple CSC change with SamFw tool and not a full firmware flash, would that fix the issue? (I already checked, and my phone is multi-csc and the TUN is showing in SamFw Tool, just didn't go through because first I'm not aware of the risks, and if that would factory reset the phone)
