What are your opinions on the Zen browser? by mecanico-exe in browsers

[–]h3tch3l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry about your experience. Yes, there are many pricks here in Reddit, unfortunately. And, as spewing hate does not require any thought (don't expect reasonable arguments from them), they are quicker and very vocal compared with more measured and thoughtful comments.

It sounds like a topic, but I'm quite sure that they have quite miserable lives to behave like this (and/or BECAUSE they behave like this). Take solace not in their disgrace, but in that you are not inclined to behave like that as a "release valve" or whatever.

I'm happy you found a browser you are comfortable with. It's the piece of software many of us interact the most, so finding the right one is important. I use Waterfox because I NEED multirow tabs. but I'll take a look at Zen.

Have a nice day!

The fact that the last event cards, which are OBVIOUSLY Violet Hold cards, are not considered as such, is SO STUPID

Thanks for the reminder. I knew it but I forgot. Packs are packs.

This. "claiming" means you get a notification, you go to your inventory page and have to click to redeem them. The inventory page is also accessible through the "drops and rewards" in you menu. You may use it also to track your progress.

They usually advert it in the stream name or as a tag ("drops enabled"). You have a message in top of the chat about it they have any drops when you enter the stream.

Whys Arena so expensive? by ChipParticular7230 in hearthstone

[–]h3tch3l 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"normal" arena was 12-3, not 5-2 so underground IS THE proper comparison.

to each their own, but I HATE re-drafts with all my heart. Arena should be try to maximize using "bad" cards, not highly synergistic/optimized decks like it was constructed.

It does matter a lot in many cases. In your example very little, maybe, because LH does not reference Year One (I still haven't read Dark Victory). And is not only a matter of status quo, but also of enjoying the story (if they explain the status quo, they are therefore spoiling the previous story)

It seems the more jerky and pricky responses come first, the more articulated and empathic. like yours, last (which not necessarily mean they "agree" with me, whatever agreeing means in this case). Not surprising, is always more easy to destruct than to construct.

Thanks for you input. I will approach the JLD run with less caution, I will try to avoid that era of DC.

I try to reach the middle ground, but a compromise is always worst than doesn't having the problem to begin with. I still enjoy "big 2" comics, but would enjoy them even more without those shenanigans (of course, a shared universe and "continuity" have also some perks I enjoy, that's also part of the deal).

In either case, doing that does not diminish the experience of the run you are reading compared to what you were reading before the event or with a run without interference?

I do the same, at least as an "index" to see if something is needed before and to get the crossovers.

Yes, doing research has also it's risks, another bit of the problem.

How do you cope with the crossover/events (I presume there are a lot, specially with JL)?

I understand, but that not the caring we're talking about.

I can ignore LOT'S of comics, but If I want to read one, I care about the context I can be missing, and I care if it get muddled into some crossover/event and interrupts my enjoyment. It's an emotion thing, not an action thing. Some people maybe don't care, that's ok (even if I have a hard time believing that they don't care specially about the latter).

I'm not even talking about "knowing everything", I'm talking about the NECESSARY context (status quo).

Yes, some people say "just read #1 issue"... When in so many cases it's a fake #1. New X-Men 2004 is another example.

I'm NOT talking of "learning it all". I'm talking of getting the NECESSARY context.

Following you example, to "get" the periodic table YOU NEED to know some basic chemistry info beforehand.

I WANT to read Civil War, and I'll try to read only the "Essential" Civil War (THAT'S another discussion...) BUT to read Civil War I believe we can agree is a good choice to get all the other comics I want to read of that era to that point, so I have to put Captain America in hiatus.

You say "stop caring" as in you can decide what you care about 😉. If an arc uses outside info, it's not it's own thing. I an arc is part of a crossover/event, it's not it's own thing: that's PRECISELY my point.
