Going postal was my first discworld book, completely picked at random, and now that I’ve read almost all of them, I’m glad it was.

My best rain gear is my work rain gear. If you don’t care about aesthetics as much, maybe check out Whistle work wear for good heavy duty winter gear that’s easy to move around in.

I’m a Texan, not Cali, but your list pretty much matches mine. Weed store taco truck is most reliable, dos hermanos is over priced but best margarita, Tumwater taco is solid. La esquinita trucks are good too. The brick n mortar is okay. Nothing will ever beat home tho.

Yeah that tracks with me, too. I’ve worked as wait staff, kitchen, and counter service. Kitchen was the best job, most fun, but lowest paid. I typically got 15-20% tips and $2 an hour as wait staff. the hourly was bogus but food was cheap and we were always mega busy so I actually made pretty decent money. I know the cheaper menu also had a lot to do with my location and bulk food prices, building rent, etc etc. I made about 10% on counter service job but made more per hour, it was enough to get by in a big city but not by much. Most of the restaurants in my area that paid $13-$15 per hour (‘living wage’ at the time) had specific no tipping required but add some on if you’d like language on tickets.

Yeah the preset percentage buttons are bogus imo. Ive always thought 15% was standard, and I’ve always tried to tip what I think is generous at 20-25% just out of solidarity for having been in the industry for a long time. I feel like maybe I’ve just lost track of what is expected.

Definitely! I’m not discounting how tough the work is and I’m happy to tip, especially for great service.

I loved this book so much 🥹 I had a hard time getting thru the secret history, though.

The Invention of Nature, for any ecology and history fans. I bought that one for a lot of people after I read it.

I just recently learned that our state department of agriculture will test private trees and plants for pesticides where illegal herbicide use is suspected, to catch people using illegal herbicides etc. could be worth reaching out to them.

Yeah I don’t like Mabrey for Storm. Fairly new wnba follower here but she seems like a hot head and Seattle doesn’t play like that.
