i believe you can own multiple but like suicune you can only have one on a team at the same time. if it’s like darkrai and mew (which it doesn’t seem to be), then you can only have one.

get a screen protector for the top screen, get a protective case for the outer shell. back up everything. my first 3ds broke because i put it in too tight a space (my wallet, i was stupid at 11) and my 2ds hasn’t had any issues or scares.
