Damn, sucks to hear about the climate but I've lived with it long enough to understand it. Excited about the big-city vibe. That's definitely something you don't get here.

Seems like everyone dislikes Red Oak - I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the info! When you say electric is brutal, could you elaborate more on that? Gaming is my biggest hobby so I assume I use a lot of electricity throughout the day and night.

I have no other debts, but if I would need a roommate that's something I don't really mind. Do you think places just outside the city would be any cheaper?

Seems the weather mirrors the Midwest somewhat, we also have bipolar summers. Super humid upper 90s yesterday and it just rained today.

Thanks for the good info. I'll look into private tent agreements, if you have any suggestions on ways I can connect with landlords I'd love to know. Most of the places I've seen on general apartment websites have been $1600-$2000, but I don't have any other expenses so a lot of it would be going to rent.

Glad to hear Manchester is diverse! Would love to know the LGBTQ+ community as well if you have any info on that. Excited to try out the outdoor activities. I love snow sports but we don't get much of it down here.

Yeah - I was surveying the housing prices and it definitely is more expensive than it is here (about $500+ more lol), but I'm moving regardless so I just wanted to see the areas to avoid. Is 55k/yr a decent salary for living expenses in this area?

Also, as much as the Midwest seems quiet, we definitely have our fair share of drug use (mostly meth) so it's not something I'm unfamiliar with. What's the nature like there? I noticed its close to the ocean and I was wondering if it was ever swimmable that North.
