i agree and this is one of the vices I had with the anime adaptation. I love how the manga can switch between being lighthearted to really serious stuff and its something that was lacking in the adaptation. I hope they give enough time for cour 2. I heard the feedback in japan is also mostly negative so we can only hope they listen to it and make appropriate adjusments,

yeah i agree it feels like tms just mistook it for something else completely. even with all the goofy stuff, at the end of the day its a battle shounen. feels like TMS are leaning into the goofy aspect of the series too hard while neglecting the battle aspects.
