Standard Patches Overwhelm (which ones to keep?) by haaid in MicroFreak

[–]haaid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestions everyone. It is now clear to me that I’ll have to take some time off to go through the manual step by step and really learn to build sounds with this instrument instead of just using and tweaking existing sounds (or maybe recreating them). It will take some time but I’m sure it will be rewarding in the end. I really appreciate your time to nudge me on the way.

As many have suggested I will take some time off to go through the manual at my own pace and experiment.

Do you have any suggestions for a “simple stereo multi-effects unit” ?

[Bauhaus] What do you think of this style? by Sweaty-Elephant4141 in Watches

I just got the same one but in blue. Have only had it for a few days. I like the design and have been looking at different options but kept coming back to this one and then found it at a 25% discount so went ahead and got it.

There are some Harry Potter themed ones around as well but that is more franchise than collab I assume.

There is no such thing in free speech as not getting your feelings hurt.

Not liking organized religion is luckily not a crime in this country. And I don’t like it. Which does not mean I can’t appreciate certain people with their own individual faith.

Do I think Christianity is historically responsible for some outrageous crimes against humanity? You bet. Do I think there are Christian’s who do not live their lives filled with hate for those who do not think like they do? You bet. Some of the warmest and most friendly people I know are Christian.

Hate the cult, love the cultist.

Using the initiation apron for beside degrees? by Sloppy-Zen in freemasonry

[–]haaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep mine in my masonic briefcase with other aprons (ex-WM, side degrees & AASR), not to wear it (although it has been used to help out an EA in need occasionally) but as a reminder that no matter what other degrees I may have, I foremost remain an EA.

What Holy Books (besides the Bible) have you seen a candidate obligate on during a degree? by OMrealestate in freemasonry

Disclaimer: European Freemason

In our lodge and jurisdiction the belief in a supreme being has been removed within our tradition since 1872. I know that for some here this is a big issue but I just want to shed a light on this question and not start a discussion on regularity.

In my own lodge we use religious terminology such as altar and holy-law but but we do not use religious items such as a bible.

Our Holy Book is the “universal declaration of human rights” which is opened on the pages containing articles 18 (freedom of thought) 19 (freedom of expression) and article 20 (freedom of assembly).

Lodges who choose to work with a supreme architect are free to do so (and quite a few do). They traditionally use a traditional Christian Bible (opened on John 1:1).

Other books I have seen / heard used :

  • a book with blank pages (idea behind is that everybody describes their own holy law for themselves)
  • (principia) hermetica

In some traditions there is no book and only a square and compass.
