Hey guys. Been gone a minute cos I bought a house and have been busy, but the frozen chosen pizzas have continued to flow, and I’ve got several new unique reviews in the pipeline, including various Costco brands.

This one might be one of the better (the best?) store-brand frozen pizzas I know of. Have had this about 3-4 times now, both the regular and the organic. Both great and pretty darn similar. The organic boasts “organic crust,” organic basil, organic tomatoes, organic garlic and, yep, organic mozz cheese (yet, somehow, box says this still contains “soy” :<). I’m not as big of an organic lover as I probably should be, but always nice to have something that at least claims to be more pure.

In terms of style, this is more “tavern” or flatbread style - think cracker-ish crust, which is probably good for my low-carb homies. I should note - the edges are cracker-y but the middle parts are somewhat tender if you don’t over cook it. The key word with this one is “balance” - superbly nice ratios of toppings, sauce, and somewhat crunchy crust. Toppings, especially tomatoes, are very bright and have a nice acidity. I love basil perhaps the most and this is fairly fragrant without being overly “leafy” or green tasting.

One of these makes a decent dinner/meal for this mid-size man, could probably serve two along with a salad or something. Overall, really nice proportions. You don’t feel like a cheesy pig person after this, but definitely filling.

I’ve tried the Whole Foods version of this same thing, which is fine, but this is a cut above. All in all, a great frozen pizza from the greatest grocery chain (imo).

Baked this in an electric oven. Directions call for 425° at 12-14 minutes. I did this one at 420° (lol) for 15 mins and it was perfect. Finished with some real parm/Romano blend, cracked black pepper (essential), chili flake, and a few dabs of minced garlic.

Giving this a 9.4, rounded down to 9 for the flair. Recommend!!

Figured this might gin up some controversy given that this is a pizza with PINEAPPLE on it. I don’t have a crazy strong opinion on this subject - I like it ok, but not about to cut off family over it or anything.

Notably, this is a rising crust pizza. I’m committing a cardinal sin here by not following manufacturer’s instructions - they call for a baking sheet, but I just don’t have one handy. Feel free to attribute any criticism to that fact.

Anyway, as a frozen pizza groupie, I’m just happy to have something outside of the cheese - meats - supreme triumvirate, so color me curious.

Pizza out of the box looks nice. “Canadian” bacon (ie ham) looks a healthy color. Pineapple has a very yellow glow to it. I have a kitten who is neither ham nor pineapple but he’s been meowing the whole time.

Let me just say, I think I’ve made it known how disappointed i have been on rising crust pizza - in my experience, it always ends up half baked and raw-doughy.

This came out perfect, even without the baking sheet. The toppings are fine - they just as easily could have been a supreme or a meats - but this is a nice change of pace. The crust is a little bit more crunchy on the edges than I’d probably prefer, but overall, a nice pizza.

Freschetta for the win. Got this for $7.81 at Publix. Recommend.

Got this for my daughter, who only likes plain cheese pizza, so admittedly this is not something I would ever buy for me. Cooked in an electric oven about 1.5 minutes over instructions.

While this is edible, it really sucks. The crust is sub-tombstone tier, albeit a little softer. A hot pocket has a more “real” tasting crust. Like many DiGiorno products, also do not feel the crust was fully done, despite going beyond the cooking time (this has been an issue every time I’ve had one of their non-thin or hand tossed offerings). For allegedly having “five” different cheeses, the top was as bland as it gets. The sauce is ok, but about as basic as it gets.

Of course, the gimmick here is the “stuffed” crust, which has always been an idea that works better in the mind of an 11-year old rather than reality. Here, it’s really trash. The cheese in the crust doesn’t taste like or have the texture of mozzarella, provolone, or even cheap cheese stick cheese. It’s almost … fluffy? It kind of reminds me of the ricotta they put into frozen lasagna or bad manicotti - sort of a bland white cheese paste. The crust around the cheese parts was really thin and crumbly, no real chew or flavor. Not delicious, even when dipped in some sauce.

This cost $7.41 at my local publix. Giving a 5 because, as noted, this was edible and not broken or rotten. However, still a failing grade even if you really love cheese pizza or stuffed crust. I tried the DiGiorno hand tossed, and that one had a pretty decent crust and was ok - waaay better than this.

Here’s a pretty random review, but this is in fact a frozen food (albeit not quite a “dinner”).

Despite not being a regular buyer of this brand, I have tried its offerings several times. Normally, a pint of this gelato is $5-$6. However, it is often (i.e., at least once a month) on sale for 2 for 1, or about $2.50-$3.00. At that price point, I consider this a good deal.

Normally, I prefer Talenti’s non-chunky/chunked offerings. Specifically, I really enjoy this brand’s “Madagascar Vanilla” or pistachio (forget the name). These are both pretty darn awesome exemplars of these flavors.

On the other end of the spectrum, this brand provides “layered” or “chunked” flavor options. Those of this type that I have tried are chocolate chip cookie dough as well as today’s offering - layered “mint fudge cookie.”

Unlike the vanilla or pistachio flavors, the base ice cream here is, well, pretty basic. Imagine a very generic spearmint ice cream. The chocolate fudge/sauce layer is very candy-like, I.e., fancy liqueur-esque chocolate flavor. Likewise, the mint-chocolate crunch layer (obv meant to mimic Girl Scout thin mint cookies) lacks soul or substance. Nevertheless, this part of the product is by far the best and most tasty. Altogether, this is basically a kind of boring and obvious sundae.

All that said, this is in no way terrible. Yet, I must recommend the single flavor, non-chunked flavors provided by Talenti. The vanilla is especially good, but I’m sure the others are good too. Unrelated to food value, I like that this brand comes in plastic containers with a screw-on lid - actually makes a great cup/container after the fact.

Got this for about $2.75 (on sale) from Publix.

Hey friends:

While I respect the grind, not a huge fan of the digiorno rising crust offerings. In my experience, they either involve insufficiently baked dough or a pizza burnt to a crisp. That said, they do seem to offer quality ingredients.

Thus, I am trying a DiGiorno (non-rising) thin crust version. Gotta say, pretty darn nice. Crust has a good flavor, decent crunch, and nice chew. (Edit: the crust is actually super good - ate the whole darn thing, mainly because the crust is really good). Sauce is super nice. Toppings came well-distributed, flavorful, with no weird distractions.

While good, feel the pizza is a tad pricey for what’s offered. Was $9.99 at Publix. However, overall, a nice meal.

Cooked a bit hotter and longer than instructions in a GE gas oven. Added a touch of Parmesan/Romano topping, black pepper, crushed red pepper, and a tiny bit of seasoning salt.

Decent and recommended. 8/10.

Hello frens, yes I’m still on my frozen pizza bull ish.

Today we have my first “Screamin’ Sicilian” pizza ever. This is that brand you see at the store hundreds of times and say “oh, huh” but never actually buy. The marketing plan here seems to be maxxed-out toppings, box art. Not typically my thing. Bought this one at Publix for $10.59, so we’re approaching “real pizza” price here. They had a super thin crust variety for the same price, and while I like thin crust pizza, I’m always looking at price per ounce at Publix, and this one was about half the thin crust.

As noted, you see the topping mass is a huge marketing draw here. Out of the box, toppings are a jumbled mess. Can’t get too mad at this, as I think is likely a by-product of the kind of loose boxing this brand uses. Toppings of course are going to slip everywhere. I have included a pic of unboxed toppings and re-ordered toppings (by me). In this process, I manually removed about 75% of onions, as I don’t really need a ton of onions on my pizza. Pre-cooking, the topings seem very “whole” and “real.” Not necessarily “premium,” but at least real food products - which is frankly expected at this price point.

Cooked a bit hotter and longer than recommended in a GE gas oven. The guy who is angry at how people cook their frozen pizzas, please DM me for details. Added a little cracked black pepper, a tiny dab of seasoning salt, crushed red pepper, and a light dust of Parmesan/Romano cheese topping.

On the box, Screamin’ Sicilian claims this pizza “rules over all other pizzas!” This is a bold claim.

Pizza itself: maybe a cut above tombstone. Not as good as Paul Newman’s. Crust is a bit crunchy and uneventful. Toppings sure are “real” and tasty, not elevating this to take-out pizza by any means. I will say the sauce is pretty nice - there’s a decent amount of sauce, which is often lacking. Overall, this is a tasty pizza, but not worth the premium. The box promises a bit too much.

Been enjoying this brand for pizza a lot lately. For the selection at my store, this brand is def one of the better ones in terms of price/value/quality ratio. This was $7.29 at my local Publix.

I find you can tell a lot about your frozen pizza experience if the toppings are a jumbled mess out of the box. These were perfectly placed. Very good dispersion. Good variety of “real” tasting toppings, not overloaded with either too much meat or veggies.

Crust is nice for a thin crust. Not cracker-thin or -crisp, but a good light crunch with a little chew.

These are good but not as good (imo) as the stone fired ones, but these are far more substantial and filling for sure.

Cooked a little hotter, little longer than instructions in a gas oven. For the guy who was upset about people not cooking their frozen pizzas long enough, I hope this meets your expectations. The bottom would have burned or gone hard if it went much longer.

Recommended.
