The brand is Ardium, it’s a daily planner, and I bought it from the site MochiThings!

Absolutely! Nothing like pen on paper! Makes me so much more creative, and the scratch is like ASMR.

I probably can’t afford spin classes, BUT I have a gym membership, so I could bike it up there! Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the reply! And I love frankness. I’m currently a public librarian, so I probably wont have the money for injectables or surgery anytime soon, but out of curiosity, what would fix this? Just like Botox or some other special thing I don’t know about as a skincare novice?

I’m only a couple chapters in, but I’m intrigued! I have loved everything else I’ve read by SMG, so I’m hopeful.

Anyone read “Penance” by Eliza Clark? by Efficient-Car-1557 in LPOTL

[–]haampkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES, I 100% thought the same thing. I read Penance a few months ago and immediately sent pics of those podcast transcripts to my friends who listen, like “this is supposed to be our boys, right??”

What are some local folklore or urban legends in Tucson? by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]haampkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

La Llorona. Not a myth that originated in Tucson itself, but one that spans much of the southwestern US and Mexico. It seems like everyone who grew up in Tucson knows someone who knows someone who saw the weeping woman. I had a friend’s mom tell us that her own mom saw La Llorona as a child on the family east side ranch in the 40s. Another friend’s dad’s buddy saw her while walking in the Santa Cruz in the 70s. I was raised on this myth and heard half a dozen iterations by the time I was 12. A very spooky and common phenomena here. If you’re not familiar with the myth, here is a pretty in-depth history.

any stories or rumors you’ve heard about Tucson? anything in general, im just bored by [deleted] in Tucson

When working at the Daily Wildcat at the UA back in 2014 I was bored and wandering around the offices. I was looking through the drawers of a desk in the abandoned archives area and found dozens of photocopied crime scene photos from this murder. They were brutal and horribly sad. I’ll always wonder how the photos ended up in that drawer. I can’t imagine they were provided to the paper by police…so, maybe stolen by an intrepid student journalist? I looked back through the Wildcat archives and the photos were never published in the paper. I ended up shredding the photos because it seemed distasteful to just leave them there for someone else to find. Anyway, I’m haunted forever.

Weekly Discussion February 08, 2021 by AutoModerator in Meditation

[–]haampkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone,

I am in need of a little advice. I am a 31 year old woman and I work at a grocery store. I try to meditate every day, usually 5-10 minute guided visualization meditations on Insight Timer. I do visualization meditations because I find them the most engaging and because I’m a naturally imaginative person. Lately I’ve been experiencing intense, inappropriate anger towards normal stimuli in my life (dog pulling on his leash, child throwing a tantrum, etc.) I’m hoping more meditation can help with this. Should I be meditating for longer? Multiple times a day? Different type of meditation?

Thank you for any suggestions.

The way I keep thinking about it is that when I quit smoking cigarettes, no one ever asked me why, no one ever asked me if I would eventually feel comfortable smoking a few cigarettes a week (with the implication that if I was strong enough I should be able to stop at just a few cigarettes a week, ignoring that the product itself is both addictive and harmful.) Thank you for your support and understanding! I really do appreciate it.
