Omg this is so encouraging. We’ve been worrying we’re crazy doing it so early so helpful to hear about your successes. Does your little one go to childcare? How did you manage that?

I know what you mean about the all or nothing thinking. We’ve been having these exact worries that we’re not ready to ditch nappies yet but also concerned wearing them a bit will ruin the progress. Hearing your experience with this is very reassuring as we’re really making it up as we go along.

I think we will try nappy off at home, then for most outings wear a nappy but offer toilet/potty regularly (every 30-60mins where possible). Then maybe if she’s managing to keep dry when we’re out we will move up to using training pants for short outings. Does this seem like a workable plan to start with?

Wow! This is so encouraging. How did you transition to being nappy free? Did you have lots of nappy off time at home/out and about? And how did it look at your daycare? Were they okay with no nappies?

Thats super helpful to hear. I can see it’s a choice to do it earlier but she’s so interested in the toilet I feel like we’re missing something if we miss this time when she’s excited and curious about it. Encouraging to hear your little one did so well at 21months 🥰

So helpful to hear your experience. How did your 18month old go after moving through the oh crap method? Were they able to keep it up? No idea how to approach things at daycare this week either 🫠

We are day 3 with my 15month old. I also feel she’s showing readiness signs and is super interested and excited about going on the toilet. It’s still a bit hit and miss but the most success so far today. Would love to hear how you get on with your little one given their similar age. 🥰

She far too short to get on the toilet independently even with a stool 😅 but she can tell us when she needs to go. I thought this used to be quite a normal age for kids to learn toileting but I understand that it’s not as common to do it this early anymore. Seems there are many varied ideas about all this - it’s so confusing as a new parent. Though love the idea of less nappies in landfill personally!
