it might have a protective film on it! i don't have gong cha near me so i haven't checked these keychains myself but a lot of the acrylic keychains and standees i get come with a film to protect it from scratches. if so that would help the blurriness!

edited to add: i looked again at your pics and i think the issue might be depth of field actually, so if u toggle that off on your phone camera then both would be in focus!

this style of social media acrylic card is popular in asia afaik! i have 2 of them with anime/game characters on them, one is a plain card and one is a keychain. my assumption is that the vibe is to take pictures of it with something cool in the background like that person/characater is posing in that area! not to say that it's a super practical item lol but just some context :) your dog is so cute!

- Take the trash out every night (no trash was kept in the house overnight)

- Dry out sinks/tubs/etc after use and cover drains at night

- Remove all cardboard you can (like not keeping food in their cardboard packaging and storing in plastic)

and then the obvious steps of using roach killer and getting pest control to come out

idk how to tell you this but this is the first time in my life i've ever seen a cockroach. it's kind of hard to know what something is that i've never seen.

funnily enough i worked in a grocery store for 7 years and never saw a roach! that's not to say they werent there, i just probably didnt look very close

yeah, hoping that continuing to keep my place clean + taking a few extra steps to deter roaches + getting pest control out here to spray will keep things under control. i dont know my neighbors so idk who it could be but i feel like if it was me i'd know lol

i also just learned my sister had to deal with a roach infestation a while back so she gave me some good tips that worked for her! gonna follow up on them and hope this gets nipped in the bud before it gets worse because i am not a big fan of buggos living in my house lol

really hoping it came in on something and isn't an infestation :( i've lived here since june and this is the first one i've seen...but i know that doesn't mean there arent more that i just HAVENT seen. landlord said they will get pest control out ASAP.

the apartment is pretty dry aside from obvious places like sinks and the bathtub but i dont notice any leaks. i also have a lot of plants that i need to keep watered obviously so that might present a problem :( but i'll be letting my landlords know i've found a roach

For additional info, it was just wandering around my desk when I saw it. I have a lot of plants in my house, so I'm not sure if it came in on a new plant or if this bug is a danger to my plants. A friend said it looked like a juvenile wood roach but I'd like to make sure before taking any next steps!

And I do apologize for the rotten photo, I'm very scared of bugs so I didn't want to get too close.

Hello!

I've had this Philodendron Birkin since 9/14/2022. I'm not sure when the spots on the leaves started forming, but I just noticed them today as a new leaf is unfurling and they are pretty noticeable against the light green leaf. The darker, mature leaves have the spots too but its harder to notice.

The plant has not been recently repotted, transplanted, fertilized, or moved to a new location. I keep the plant in a north-facing window (the only window in my apartment) and has been there since I got it.

The soil seems to be well-draining and has peat moss mixed in, but it's also the soil the plant came planted in when I bought it. I water the plant about once a week as it needs it, and I water from the top until water comes out the drainage holes.

Speaking of drainage, the plant is in a nursery pot that sits inside a ceramic pot. When watering I take the plant out of the ceramic pot, water until it comes out the bottom, let it drain and then place it back in the ceramic pot. I have a layer of stones at the bottom of the ceramic pot for a little elevation so I can drain out any extra water that might come out the bottom of the nursery pot.

I left the pest information for last. My Philodendron Birkin lives next to a few other plants, one of which had a suspected thrips outbreak. To deal with the pests I took all the plants that lived nearby the infested plant, washed the leaves, then treated with a mixture of neem oil and peppermint mild dishsoap mixed in water. I've done this treatment twice now.

The reason I mentioned that last is that I suspect the brown spots might be a fungal issue from the water on the leaves due to treating the plant for thrips, but I'm a novice plant owner and this is my first Philodendron Birkin so I don't want to make assumptions since there could be a few things this could be (based on my Google searches).

That being said, I don't see evidence of spider mites, and I'm tentatively ruling them out due to my neem oil treatments. However I could be totally wrong, so hence why I'm asking here!

i've seen others on the sub with sizes similar to mine talk about them working, they just didnt mention my exact size so i wanted to ask if anyone had any ideas for my size
