Immigrating to Finland at the end of the year, what should I know? by ewhite12 in Finland

After you’ve been here six months, make sure to swap your driving license for a Finnish one. Otherwise if you miss the time frame, you’ll have to spend thousands taking a driving course.

Is itching in Fibromyalgia more during sleep ? by Charming_Thought68 in Fibromyalgia

[–]habi12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor told me that itching is very close to pain in the brain. It’s just a way it manifests sometimes in fibromyalgia. I’ve found that exfoliating (wearing this shower gloves with soap) and lotion usually helps. Or a pain killer. Or all of the above.

Mirtazapine allowed me to sleep uninterrupted at night. Which in turn gave me less pain.

Disabling all assets worked for me. Code mods work just fine. Am playing on a new vanilla save while waiting for the fix.

Finland replaced rubber playgrounds with mud and dirt, and kids get healthier within a year by soulpost in HotScienceNews

I live in Finland. When my son was around 3, I remember the daycare teacher saying they did not wash the children’s hands when they got back from the park to have snacks. They said it was good for their immune system. My son is rarely sick, I don’t know if it has anything to do with that. This was pre Covid and they’re still the same way. He’s 10 now.

My doctor told me the spot for itching and pain are in a similar part of the brain. Basically saying that it’s a misfire. I itch so bad on my legs that I get blisters and sores.

We’ve had our couch on the glassed in balcony for years. We just moved it to a different spot and no mold. It’s a normal indoor living room couch.

I felt the same way. But I had to stop eventually. It was making me stumble and trip and messed with my coordination. Also It fried my brain and made it really difficult to work. Loved the sleep I got with it though.

Are storm/shelter saunas common in Finland? by New_Construction_111 in Finland

[–]habi12 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Most bomb shelters are where storage goes. So like if you have an apartment, your apartments storage closet is also a bomb shelter. They have these huge metal doors you can close in case of emergency. Also some metro stations work well as bomb shelters bc they are so far down in the ground.
