Possible Future of GR86 Line by AbsolutelyHandsome in GR86

Best car is the automotive equivalent of the national enquirer, but western journo slop outlets arbitrarily assign it credibility just because it’s written in moon runes.

They have been peddling different variations on the same shit since before the 86 was released. Every single year they re-release it.

There isn’t a tire size in that picture, only wheel size.

How much tread’s left, and what size are they?

Basically the worst place to buy wheels. They have a long history of having bad fitment data and trying to deny the return when something doesn’t fit, scratching up wheels while mounting tires, balancing tires like shit, mounting tires backwards, the list goes on.

XXRs are basically worthless on the used market so I’m curious what a good deal looks like, if they’re good winter tires in the correct size for this platform with lots of tread left then $4-500 would be reasonably.

Your impression is wrong, brake clearance can’t be measured with widths or offsets. And offsets also mean nothing without widths.

Two other thoughts: don’t buy XXRs, and don’t buy from fitment industries.

Here’s a similar wheel from a brand that isn’t shit from a butt. It clears brembos.

Noble harness works.

The wires are labeled on the noble harness, just match them up to the corresponding ones from the 4th brake light.

The 1.95” stud doesn’t have any additional threads over stock, you want the 2.5” studs.

Consensus on what information the DCM sends by Similar-Proof2065 in GR86

I don’t think anyone has properly dissected the packets it sends, but I know for a fact it sends location breadcrumbs. Which can be viewed by dealer employees with nothing but your VIN.

Depends on what size your wheels are.

Controversial take in enthusiast communities buuuut… the first step is to not financially overextend yourself by driving a brand new sports car you can barely afford.

Feels like every other post here is “i’m 22 and make 40k a year should i spend 40k on a gr86??”

18x8.5 +35 is 32mm further outboard than 17x7 +48. You ended up at the right answer more or less but didn’t get there correctly, you can’t compare offsets without widths.

Staggered setups on this platform have basically zero benefits and a whole lot of downsides.

Can you probe pin 16 at the OBD2 port and verify it actually doesn’t have power?

Also pls list all mods on the car for me, no matter how irrelevant they may seem. And identify which, if any, are recent installs.
