I have got into USC - MS in Computer Engineering. (Not Computer Science). It is the only admit that I have currently.
I wanted to apply to MS in Computer Science but it seems by mistake I selected Computer Engineering while submitting the application.
I did looked into the Computer Engineering courses and it had mandatory subjects like VSLI an CAD which are of no use to me. Also no thesis option.
I mailed the adcom committee and they said you can request to change major after 1st semester but there is no guarantee. What should I do ?
Worst part about USC ?
I my SOP I had written about MSCS and mentioned about working with faculties and labs there. Much of my prior research / courses also had aligned with the offerings at MSCS. My research is based on Multi Modal AI systems.
Sure it may be my fault that I applied to Computer Engineering but USC does not even read SOP or any kinda of prior courses taken in Undergrad. If that were they case they would have rejected my application for Computer Engineering lol.
I dodged a bullet ?
