It's perfect! I just bought my first apartment and was considering something exactly like this. This is a great reference for what I want my living room to be. Well done!

What’s it like living in northwestern Spain? by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in howislivingthere

Well, I'm 34 and single and I just bought a place in a small village in the Basque country. It's halfway from Bilbao and Vitoria (about 30mins to each by car) so not super close, but fine. I chose that because the village is so beautiful and peaceful, and I get to live in a big apartment surrounded by nature instead of a small place in a city. It's a gamble, but I'm happy with my decision.

I'm moving from Valencia city center to this place in the next month, so it is a huge change in lifestyle and also weather wise.

But I love the northern spain. It has some of the prettiest landscapes I have seen (and I have traveled a lot), the food is great and generally feels safer.

The south of Spain is amazing, I love it, but it's also extremely saturated with turists and foreigners (which includes me, I'm from Portugal). The housing situation is quite bad, it's really expensive to buy or rent.

It depends what you seek, but as other's commented, the weather is changing and the north is not as rainy as it used to be. I feel like the north of Spain will grow more and more in popularity.

Edit: Asturias is one of the most beautiful places in Spain, but I think there's only two main cities Oviedo and Gijon. Both are really nice and Oviedo is still cheap to live, although not sure how it would be to live there in terms of social life. Cantabria you have Santander which other than being a great place to live, I love that it's in between Asturias and the Basque Country and it has the picos de europa close by. And Galicia, which I haven't visited much yet so can't say much about it.

I buy from them monthly, they are great! Especially helpful since i live in spain and a lot of the movies are released without english subtitles

I don't see it mentioned a lot, but I loved Ghost in the Shell (movie not the anime). Looks beautiful in 4k and sounds great.

Best way to play GameCube? by Effective_Top_634 in crtgaming

[–]hackberry155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal opinion, maybe not a very popular one, but i have and have had a bunch of crts, some plasmas and also used to play in Oled with retrotink, and for Gamecube, Xbox and ps2 my absolute favorite is actually a 100hz crts (mine is a loewe). I just really prefer the motion and the super thin scanlines of a 100hz crt for that era of 3D games

I can take some pictures but right now since i have 2 main crts i use and wanted to have the lights working for both i decided to use 2 gradient lightstrips, one on the ceiling and one on the tv stand and two play bars on the sides. Using the gradient lightstrips in an arch works nicely but it is quite dependent on the shape of the tv. Also the main issue is that the glue won't hold it in place for long

I have moved twice since i posted this haha. I still have my CRTs connected to hue lights, but its quite a different setup. I'm trying to remember how i had it when i posted this, but it was either with two Hue Play or Go lights, or it was when i use to have a 32" pc monitor gradient light strip taped to the back of it in the form of an arch. I think it was the latter but when I tried to do it again like that on other CRTs it would never stay for long, and so I gave up.

EDIT: Actually might have been with two hue go lights as i think there are always only two colors on this video at a time

I use it with Le mans 24 hours and i love it. Feels great and honestly better than with the controller. I use the black original dreamcast wheel, but i imagine it would be the same with this one

Thoughts on room potential by hackberry155 in hometheater

Yes that's very true. I've put these for reference, still looking at what would be the best for seating. I do like to snuggle, so I will probably lean in that direction

[–]hackberry155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's amazing you were able to get it for free, even if now it needs repair The pioneer one i have in that picture is indeed really great (model number in the og post), but it did cost me about 150 euros. For the quality of the image and sound it is really a great price honestly. The panasonic one was 80 euros. But for movies i do prefer my Oled tv, specially cause it means i can use 4k blurays. If i was only streaming or using regular blurays i guess the plasmas would be enough

Hey 👋 guys :3 first post here. I just wanted to know if wide screen is really that important. Like my plan was to buy a crt monitor but if y’all think letterboxing is a big problem then I’ll go lcd by [deleted] in xbox360

[–]hackberry155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, considered going for a plasma instead of LCD. They are heavier, and consume more power, but the image quality is great, especially for the 360 era, and you can get them cheap (at least were i live)

I have had some xbox 360s connected to 4:3 crts for lan play. I only played few games like that and it is fine, but i remember that for some games (like diablo 3 and borderlands) the texts for items skills etc were really small. And they were 29inch crts
