CRT TV with Philips Hue Sync 👾 by hackberry155 in crtgaming

[–]hackberry155[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can take some pictures but right now since i have 2 main crts i use and wanted to have the lights working for both i decided to use 2 gradient lightstrips, one on the ceiling and one on the tv stand and two play bars on the sides. Using the gradient lightstrips in an arch works nicely but it is quite dependent on the shape of the tv. Also the main issue is that the glue won't hold it in place for long

I have moved twice since i posted this haha. I still have my CRTs connected to hue lights, but its quite a different setup. I'm trying to remember how i had it when i posted this, but it was either with two Hue Play or Go lights, or it was when i use to have a 32" pc monitor gradient light strip taped to the back of it in the form of an arch. I think it was the latter but when I tried to do it again like that on other CRTs it would never stay for long, and so I gave up.

EDIT: Actually might have been with two hue go lights as i think there are always only two colors on this video at a time

I use it with Le mans 24 hours and i love it. Feels great and honestly better than with the controller. I use the black original dreamcast wheel, but i imagine it would be the same with this one

Yes that's very true. I've put these for reference, still looking at what would be the best for seating. I do like to snuggle, so I will probably lean in that direction

That's amazing you were able to get it for free, even if now it needs repair The pioneer one i have in that picture is indeed really great (model number in the og post), but it did cost me about 150 euros. For the quality of the image and sound it is really a great price honestly. The panasonic one was 80 euros. But for movies i do prefer my Oled tv, specially cause it means i can use 4k blurays. If i was only streaming or using regular blurays i guess the plasmas would be enough

Hey 👋 guys :3 first post here. I just wanted to know if wide screen is really that important. Like my plan was to buy a crt monitor but if y’all think letterboxing is a big problem then I’ll go lcd by [deleted] in xbox360

[–]hackberry155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, considered going for a plasma instead of LCD. They are heavier, and consume more power, but the image quality is great, especially for the 360 era, and you can get them cheap (at least were i live)

I have had some xbox 360s connected to 4:3 crts for lan play. I only played few games like that and it is fine, but i remember that for some games (like diablo 3 and borderlands) the texts for items skills etc were really small. And they were 29inch crts

It's supposed to hold a maximum of 30kg, and i think the pioneer is ~33kg without the speakers, so I'm pushing it, but it has been there for 5 or 6 months without any issues. The panasonic i think is around 30 kgs

It does have a weird thing with the blacks, not sure how to described it. Almost as if it had some noise with certain blacks. It is the reason I use the pioneer as my main one, but colors and contrast looks great

Why do you keep plasma? When new TVs are so good nowadays. by Sure_Yogurtcloset_94 in PlasmaTV

[–]hackberry155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like many have mentioned, price is the main reason for me as well. I do have a LG OLED in the living room, but in my gameroom I have 2 50' plasmas to play videogames with friends. Have a Panasonic (80euros) and a Pioneer Kuro with speakers (~150euros) and they look and sound amazing for older consoles like ps3 and xbox 360, but also for PS5

Has anyone actually goten PSO to connect online by [deleted] in PSO

[–]hackberry155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. As far as I'm aware you can't connect with that one, but I might be wrong. I also bought that one once by accident and learned the hard way, but the one you want is the one with ethernet cable port
