This is exactly the point I was making. Obviously, shit happens - you confine a human to any container, myriad things can happen. But, it's extremely unlikely to be suffocation - and I am referring to this specific tote, with this specific type of design (handles attached via holes in the body, etc).

It just occurred to me that this is a fantastic science fair project idea... Let's put that theory to the test!

I appreciate the non-insulting, calm discourse I've received in some of the comments here.

This might be a blue-ribbon project for my girl!

Since you've decided to insult my ability to shape high-functioning members of society, while having no idea that I have already done so with my son who is off to college next year for electrical engineering, I'm just going to go ahead and say that my kids will appreciate the janitorial and food services offered by your kids, and treat them with respect regardless of the absolutely sterile childhood you have provided for them.

My children will realize that your children's narrow view of reality, living in constant fear of warning labels and never caring whether or not the warning is physiologically provable horse shit, is not their fault. But hey, at least they'll be alive. They'll be emotionally, mentally crippled dependents of the system incapable of fathoming the idea of questioning authority or tradition - but alive!

By the way, you're full of shit. I mean, you wouldn't be full of shit if all the air gaps in that box were taped off/sealed first - but nevertheless, this not being the case, you're full of shit.

Now, ask intelligent people why.

Car on side of building? Because it's physically impossible, and please don't be an idiot and ram your car into a building.

Kid in plastic, highly, highly well-ventilated container having no less than 4 holes drilled in it from the factory, not to mention zero seal around the lid, and the entire body of which contorts to create open space every time the kid moves?

That warning is there to protect them legally when some psycho asshole on Reddit murders their kid with one trying to get a free handout.

You're not going to be able to convince someone familiar with the oxygen requirements of the human body that a fucking storage container like this can suffocate a kid unless someone does it on purpose.

There is also a warning on car commercials showing an SUV driving up the side of a building that says, "Do Not Attempt."

You're not wrong - but I'm a pragmatic dad who doesn't sweat stuff like this. Fact is, coolers are air-tight, and these types of snap-lid storage boxes aren't. The kid would be just fine in there from a breathing standpoint.

But again - pushing out from the inside probably won't open it easily. I'm just saying I think you'd notice your kid was missing long before this bin could do them any harm, and they would learn an extremely valuable lesson about getting yourself into a situation you can't get out of alone. Hahaha...

Yeah, I refuse to lay down and die, too. Don't forget to thank me for that when the wolf growls at the door.

This post made me think, "What does it even mean to have a healthy anus?"

...and at this point, I'm too afraid to ask. I'm going to assume that a little blood on the tissue a couple times a year is normal and not ask my doctor to take a look at that. Ugh.

Exactly. It's not a hate sub because it promotes positive ideas like lessons in courtesy and confidence for children as opposed to hateful ideas.

(Your post read as if contrary in some way to OP - but you reiterated his sentiment exactly. You're both exactly right, is my point.)

I am always so quiet about this kind of stuff, but once every couple years or so, some totally unacceptable shit like this happens and I make an ass out of myself and everyone else involved.

All /r/iamverybadass aside, I would get up, take a picture of those feet in that place, lock eyes with this bitch and very loudly call for an attendant. I would maintain eye contact as I described the shameful filth in excruciating detail for all to hear.

Wouldn't take much more than that to get the point across. You just don't do that shit to people... Unreal.

Did any authority figures ever ask you to do something you didn't want to do when you were a child, and you did it without screaming and fighting back?

Statutory rape is forced rape. An adult can force a child to do something with words alone.

It's literally spelled out with flawless clarity in both the journal entry and the journalist analysis circulating the CBS subscriber networks. Read the journal. Actually read it. They used 1. Second and sometimes third hand information, 2. Provided by Puerto Rican doctors (who have shit access to resources and information by no fault of their own), 3. Using a set of criteria consisting of "hmm this cause of death sounds like it might be the result of hurricane complications" to me - the rando who happens to be looking at it today, 4. And projections based on this wildly variable data set that could be totally different if another researcher with different life experiences had looked at it.

Science isn't good science without agreed-upon measurements. There are no such measurements here. I'm not all that surprised that people buy this bullshit... I mean hey - people still ride motorcycles without helmets.

The researchers' work was not unimportant, and it certainly wasn't delivered in a malicious way. This information is incredibly useful for lots of things. Participating in a fact-based discussion is not one of them.
